TOSH - where are you gonna hook up for accomodation?

the carlton hotel is pretty good, 3 beds to a room if people dont mind sharing, walking distance from the ex-servicemans club? next to the park..

also it's ontop/behind a pub :) :)

  • 2 weeks later...

hmm ill see if i can make it...if im not too stressed out from exams...

hey franky you coming to this one ????

oh and btw...my tyres are sort of going...esp the rear end...

should I

a) drive conservative unil then and then change afterwards or

B) get new tyres before then ??

I know it depends on how you drive...but how bad is wakefield on the tyres ?

shonen, with your tires i would get them before you go down if your gonna push pretty hard, depends on your driving style there too! also if they are pretty soft compound tires they will take a bit of a beating!

i would get new ones and do at least 500km on them before you head down!!

im still good for this day should be bringing at least 2 cars with me on the day too!

hey Tosh, you got a number on how many coming so far?

yeah they will take a fair hiding! really depends on what compound they are! i've always gone down with cheaper sime tyres on it that last for atleast 4 track days plus normal driving!

the softer and better the grip= shorter time they will last!

    • Mostly likely welded. 'Coz it's f**ked. You have the car right there. Get someone to tap on the underside while you sit in the back with the seat out. You'll find it faster than we will.
    • Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's how it's going to end up. Mechanic suggested I cut a hole in the chassis/body to access the inside. I can cut the hole for access but will have to get someone else to help if any welding is needed afterwards. Things I'd like to know are: Assuming there's a captive nut inside, how's it fixed? And how can it be tightening but not fully loosening? If I cut a hole to access/replace a captive nut, is there a good place to cut for this one? Does it have to be at the side, or is there somewhere I can cut from above inside the car?
    • So i finally got the exhaust done. Full custom 3.5" stainless with dual tipped sp mufflers & a side exit aes dump valve.  Not as quiet on the outside as i thought it would be, but heaps quiter inside when driving and no more drone.  Some pics on Instagram
    • The wasteland, as least traditionally too, was the place with more relaxxed shittery/rules. Not to say you can post porn etc, but it was the place for good joking around, and a bit wild. There was also plenty of unwritten wasteland rules, such as what any user must do if someone posted up asking for likes/votes for a contest... Which was to go in and vote for someone else instead 😛
    • Plenty of people I knew who drifted set their cars up more for grip than traditional "drift", and then just added LOTS of power. Gave them more control, and bigger smoke shows.
