Series 2 Taillight Into 04 Coupe Wiring

Hey guys I just installed 07 taillights into my 04 coupe.

Just wondering who here knows how to wire up the boot release button to make it work?

You need to get that up front AND make sure it is isolated when the car is locked.

What do you mean Chris by up front?

As in wire it up to the fuse box?

I would assume wire it to the electronic boot switch which already exists. Only problem being as the switch is inside the car it works at all times which is not what you want an external switch to do. So would need to interface with the alarm system or something to disable the switch when the doors are locked...

Yah that what I was thinking as well

but I'm not good with wiring

don't know if I need a relay to make it work out splicing

Get it at the OEM point up front of off the BCM . If you can find a early sedan with the switch on the back use that diagram to find the trip wire.

Bit of dicking around but doable.
