I've got a pretty serious problem with not being able to open the fuel cap. The car is unlocked however the fuel cap still appears to be locked.

When I unlock the door with the key I can hear a whirring sound near the fuel cap. My problem now is I'm low on fuel and I'm not sure how to unlock/open it. Is there another way to manually unlock it?

Thanks!

there's a small plastic rod that pops out when the car locks to keep the cap in place when you lock the doors, the motor may have seized.

Take it to a nissan service place

otherwise I don't imagine it would take too much force to pop it free using a thin flathead but you might do damage if you're not careful

Yeah it sounds like the motor is dying. I read somewhere that you can pop it open from the boot but not sure how to go about doing this. I'm really low on fuel which it makes it so much harder..

^ahh didn't think of that.

If the boot lining in the V35 is anything like my old V36 you'll have to remove the plastic cover around the boot lock before you can move the side trims out of the way but quick & easy job just pull out the plastic clips
