Rb26 Rocker Covers Baffles - Foam

Hey guys, I'm reassembling my rocker covers after I got them chromed. I've cleaned up the stock baffles, but wanted to know rather using the stock wire mesh block in the baffles can I use that yellow fuel cell foam that the After market baffles kits use? If so how much should I jam in there? Thanks heaps!

Hey mate, a good question I am interested in doing this as well. You may want to start a new topic in the forces induction or general maintenance section though as this is the drivetrain and transmission section, so not really relevant.

It's a little late, but yes fuel cell foam will do the trick....I've had it in the race car's cam covers for about 10 years now

I've got the Mines ones and they do come with the yellow foam block but I was wondering how they go in? Ie - do you have to glue them on??

Nope, the foam can't go anywhere...it is trapped between the baffle and the cam cover

How regularly do you clean the foam out?

My gut feeling for a road car says every oil change as I could imagine that the foam may get a bit gunky after a while.

don't worry, you'll never need to clean it. I've had (the same) fuel cell foam in the cam covers for 10 years now and it hasn't gunked up at all

Whats the consensus on installation, pack it in or let it sit in there with minimal compression?

Did this over the weekend, but to RB25 cam covers. Was simple enough, hopefully it is effective

PS, bought a single block of Aeroflow fuel cell foam for $20. There is enough for at least 3x pairs of RB25 cam covers, possibly 4.
