No, just need rear diff as it's a RWD GTST but running R32 GTR running gear

Please tell me how you get on as I am in the same boat. I have an R32GTR diff in the back of my Stagea and want the 3.545 ratio but have been avoiding the V - spec active diff but if I can just use the crownwheel and pinion that will be a lot easier (I already have the front diff ready to go).

Yes, they fit nicely, the sump might need a bit of machining for the pinion gear, I had to do that for my 34 which has a modified 32 sump :)

Can that be done with the engine in? I have an R34 diff I want to put into an R33 GTR sump.

The gears can be changed in car, its not a fun job by any means, if it needs to be machined you might be able to die grind enough as it is only a real little bit that came off mine, it will be a PITA but yeah can be done

The R200 long nose diff ratios are all interchangeable, from 3.55 through to a 5.08 from a Navara iirc, I bought new 3.55 ratios for my 34 and the old ones I plan to put into the 32

Navara unlikely to be 3.55. They're in the high 4s low 5s usually. The 3.55 is the R34 CW&P you're asking about.

And yes - as he said - every R200 longnose can have the CW&P moved between them. The centres don't always swap between housings so easily, because there's some variety in axles (splines and diameter) and so on.

I would get a new centre and half shafts so that's not an issue. So the R34 Gtr v-spec crown wheel and pinion will fit in the R32 rear diff housing and bolt up to an approprite centre?

Excuse my ignorance but the R32 gtr diff is a long nose?

I believe there is a Navara/Pathfinder 3.5 ratio diff out there.

Excuse my ignorance but the R32 gtr diff is a long nose?

.

Actually, allow me to apologise - I followed on from XKLABA saying longnose without engaging my brain. The longnose diffs are the older R200s from the 80s mostly. Skyline/Sylvia etc diffs are shortnose. Here's an example http://www.xenonz31.com/Images/VLSDinstall/casedifferencefull.png

Yeah my bad, short nose, all short nose will interchange with other short nose and long for long but not short for long and vise versa due to pinion length, obviously, I gotta stop posting while working, that's the second time this week I've mucked it up :(

I have just bought a new Navara centre for my 34, will do a write up on how that goes

I do believe only the R34 GTR got the 3.545 ratios and the Navaras are high 4s to low 5s, the BSM GTr team put the 3.545 ratio into their R32 GTR race car

And as GTSboy said there are a few different output shafts, not that it matter if your getting the matching ones, the R32 GTR has iirc a 30 spline for the early cars and a 31 spline for later models which is same as 33 and 34 GTRs, not totally sure about the A-LSD diameters but am going to find out soon :)

    • Thanks for the reply @GTSBoy Haven't really thought of that yet, but you are right. If the hose was damaged it should be absolutely pissing by now. I'll put some heat sleeve around it for good measure since I'm already removing the line anyway.  Maybe I'll put on some of the stock hardlines if I ever fully remove the turbos again. Maybe when T51R modding the compressor housings? Might be a fun mod on GT28s for that "fake single turbo" effect.
    • Update 1: I did some work on the car already before finalizing this post and my "issues" list. I dropped the Tomei exhaust in favor of the HKS Hi Power Silent. Sounds nice and I can actually hear myself think now. Also gives me a realistic chance to legally drive without silencer inserts. A bit of cheating was necessary to still be able to mount the Top Secret style diffuser. Some malusage of washers and a bit of "convincing" toward the brackets and exhaust hanger seemed to do the trick. The shaky steering wheel has been resolved as various suspension components were worn, like sway bar bushings and link bars. Most notably the two steering tie rod ends. Had some trouble finding bushings because my sway bars are not OEM thickness, 23.x up front and 27 rear. But non adjustable, so no aftermarket I suppose. Maybe they are nismo units? Turbo oil drain hoses were definitely still the originals and are new now. Wasn't the cause of the turbo oil leak sadly. Currently removing the rear turbo because of it, I suspect the braided oil feed line is the culprit. This issue needs to be dealt with so I can work towards actually getting the turbo setup legal and inspected. Two new issues to add to the list as well. Rear Main seal is probably leaking. Time will show how bad it is, I don't really want to drop the gearbox right now just for the stupid seal. Could fix a few other things in one go once I do that. Front right driveshaft grease is going past the cv boot, so at some point I'll fix that too.
    • Ok so no 4cyl clutch... Yeah it is a factory manual. So if iam correct i need clutch and flywheel too? I can use something that suits something like R32 GTST?   EDIT: https://www.ebay.com/itm/224291042776 Is this ok?   EDIT2: i maybe forget to mention this(dk how important it is) but the trans will be behind RB25DET NEO(iam doing swap) It will be there for a little while. Iam planing to do bigbox or BMW tranny..
    • You're probably right about that one. Thanks for your suggestions, I hope I don't need a new 3rd brake light. Although wiring issues might arguably be worse. Right now I'm in the midst of a turbo removal because of my oil leak, other problems are going to have to wait for now.
    • Hell, I know that much. So far I just put it off as "part of the deal".
