Hey guys doing a manual conversion on my r32 rb20det. Put the gearbox in and used an s13 crossmember. However when i put the tailshaft on and bolted the centre to the car it (picture 1) seemed to have a gap on the tranny end? Secondly, in the second picture the shifter hole doesn't line up to the centre, is this normal? Cheers for any help.

Shifter is normal. The auto tunnel opening is in a different place than the manual one. The manual boot and all fits on, but tends to put a little pressure backwards on the shifter. I've never had trouble with this on mine after.....I dunno, 13 years?

With the tailshaft gap - be aware that the gearbox is supposed to have a pressed metal (and cad plated) cup pushed into the extension housing that would cover that gap.

Provided that's the one that came with the manual tranny, that's the one that I said puts backward pressure onto the shifter. I can't remember if I made it work better by turning it 180° or not. Might be worth a look.

Again, I can't remember if the auto one fits on the manual shifter. Too long ago.
