should i run tubes with my M/T slicks??

i have bought a set of mickey thompson street drag slicks and have been told by two crowds about whether to use inner tubes.

if i DO use them they run the risk of snapping the valve stem on takeoff due to the tyre twisting

OR

if i DONT use them i run the risk of having a blowout down the track and putting my car into the wall.

whats your guys views who have run with slicks down the quarter??

run tubes if they're slicks

don't bother if they're ET Streets.

ET streets are very very similar construction to a full drag slicks. I have never used tubes and never had a problem with the 3 sets i've had. It's up to you. i have ran 10.5 @ 130mph with no dramas.
