ok i brought this r33 rb25det manual, it is all standard.

when i got it home the engine light was on and it was running rich as hell to the point all the plugs had failed up, fill my shed with smoke that had smelled like fuel.

i went out and got a nistune 14 pin plug and some programs on the laptop to see why the engine light was on, but it would not connect to my ecu.

latter on i have found out that i am running a N/A auto ecu for a b33 rb25de motor.

could this be why my car is running so rich and the engine light is on.?????

i am going to go and pick up a standard manual turbo ecu for it this weekend

to see if that is the problem.

what are people thoughts

any help would be good help as i am new to the skylines. if it were a holden id have no probs at all

Certainly the non turbo ecu would be a main part of the problem. The non turbo injectors would surely be smaller meaning that more fuel gets injected.

That probably wouldn't turn on the engine light though, so there's likely another issue.

Did it run nice when you bought the car? Or just happen afterwards?

i have mate new belts including timing kit oil plugs all the usual stuff, i was going to change my 02 sensor to see if that was the problem as to why it was running rich, until i found out that the ecu is not the right one.

after i change the ecu this weekend my next step is to find out why the engine light is on

i am kind of hoping that it is on because of the wrong ecu

but having the non turbo auto ecu would be why she is running so rich???
