Hello to the SAU community

I work in the motorsport industry as a driver trainer, doing everything from safe driving courses up to instructing people in V8 Race cars. I have also worked as a mechanic in categories including V8 Supercars, V8 Utes, Formula Ford etc. I am going to begin running a new and exciting drive day called Octane Drive Days at Sydney Dragway.

I am looking for feedback/expressions of interest at this stage and am posting here to see what interest there is within the SAU community. If there is enough interest I would be happy to run a day just for SAU members and would be happy to donate an amount per person back to the forum, car club or to a charity.

I would really appreciate if you are reading this post if you could please comment below and give me your thoughts/opinions. Please dont hesitate to get in touch also, I have also included the course information below

Regards

Octane Drive Days

Do you have octane running through your blood? Octane Drive Days gives you the chance to release this inner octane and push your car to its limits!

Learn how to drive your car faster than you thought possible with the tuition of expert racing drivers from circuit and drag racing backgrounds. There will be various one on one exercises to ensure you can launch, stop and manoeuvre like a pro! You will then put these skills into practice with go to whoa and a motorkhana to round out the day.

Octane Drive Days is also a great way to get together with people as passionate about driving as you are! You will be behind the wheel for hours discovering what your vehicle is capable of in a controlled environment! The cost is $199 per person and we cater for all skill levels and vehicle types.

As far as what is exactly covered, the course will consist of several exercises to teach braking, launching and steering and then at the end of the day will consist of a motorkhana and go to whoa exercise. We will also seating position and proper car control techniques aswell as some info on vehicle dynamics.

Typically most driver training courses are around $300 per person, so i thought $199 was a pretty good price because essentially from a financial sense its the same thing, the venue costs the same to hire, along with the trainers and the amount of people completing the course is the same as a typical driver training course.

Thanks for your feedback

Where are you planning to set up the motorkhana and such?

For a track day, I would expect a venue such as smsp.

I'd like to see an itemised schedule for the day.

To see how much time will he spent covering each topic.

Definitely interested.

May just need some tweaking or explaining.
