You should be able to use an R33 PFC with no problems (just remember to make sure the map is OK :) ). For some reason only the 32 and 33 PFC are interchangable; the R34 is different. Anyone know how/why?

Edit: A little birdie told me that Apexi has suspended PFC production, and will be stopping production completely for a range of cars; only particularly popular models will be continued, but a "revision two" or something is likely when production starts again. Also, PFCs will now only be sold with hand controllers (at a slightly reduced price).

The method they use to determine air pressure is different: you can read the epic battles over which is better by doing a search.

I think its got more to do with the tuners available in various states. In WA there is a good reason to go Wolf (since SST are the largest seller/tuner for them); in the eastern states I think the PFC might make more sense.

I AM NOT A FVKIN BIRDIE :( :(

Apex Engineering from the looks of it will be continuing their line. Apexi has ceased production of PowerFC's till the end of July when they restart production of revised models which will be sold in a bundle with a handcontroller at a lower price

I'd assume an R34 one is different due to it having VVT

Hi Tebie, what is the best solution for you depends on what your power target is, what mods you are going to make to get there, how much money you want to spend and whether you are going to do it all at once or spread out over time. With this info it is much easier to point you in the right direction. :(

BTW, the standard R32 ECU can be chipped and real time tuned for around $800.

The cheapest i could find a new Pfc for an R32 GTST was $1150 delivered, plus $420 for the hand controller.

If you are pretty good with wiring diagrams, im about 90% sure you could buy the much cheaper R33 Pfc (around $8** new) and fiddle with the harness to get the thing to work.

The few RB20 PFcs i have seen floating around 2nd hand are going for about $1200-1600 depending on the particular person and whether they come with hand controller... so neither option is exactly cheap and is :bs!: when you see how cheap it is for SR20 or RB25 owners to buy them. :(

I hope the new Hand controller isnt a "beauty item", as i just bought one of the old crappy / plasticy ones.... and for a little over $400 i want a nice ricey looking one, a bit like my AVCR... :(

PFC's for the R32's are fairly rare in AUS, I know of one place which asks around $1800.

If you are willing to wait you can order them from http://www.nengun.com/ and http://www.greenline.jp/ for around $1100. From memory they don't attract stamp duty but still attract the GST. So slap another 10% on top of that price.

I looked in to the Wolf3d and the only thing that let it down where I am is the lack of people able to tune it well and the lack of sequential Injection. Apart from that it is a good ecu.

the mods i want to do include:

600*300*76 FMIC

hi-flow turbo or upgrade the turbo

3" inch exhuast

GTR injectors and fuel pump

pod air filter

and i was probably do it all within 5-6 months

depending on pricing and availability for some parts.

R33 and R32 are basicly the same pinout and it easy to use a 33 in a 32.R34are totally different plug etc.

Wolf have MAP or MAF. Wolf use the same ECU for 33 and 32s only the vvt is not used in the 32 and u can run the wiring to a boost solinoid for boost control as in the 33.
