I was just about to buy one of those, but I found a Works Bell quick release for relatively cheap (obviously not cheaper than NRG), and the Works Bell is quality, no play and clicks in every time like the first time. I did a bit of research about NRG vs Works Bell and after reading lots of comments/feedback/posts, I personally wouldn't buy the NRG.

But I guess comparing NRG to cheaper quick releases, NRG should be a tad better lol

Yeah, it was brand new in box because previous owner bought it and didn't use it. I got it for $270, and I can tell you now, the quality of it, is worth every cent. Since I've played with some cheaper quick releases, and the cheaper ones feels really filmsy.... Where as the Works Bell is solid, ZERO play, clicks on, clicks off the same way everytime, very smooth.

I think Works Bell has patented the ball locking mechanism and companies like NRG and others just copied it. The way the quick releases are manufactured is different to, don't quite remember from my research but Works is forged and others are casted? But there is a difference in quality.

I personally rather pay a tad more for a peace of mind, knowing that my wheel won't be coming off during a corner lol :)

Haha, yeah was pretty lucky. It was advertised on a Facebook group for $300 and bargained it down to $270 pick up :P

If you are ever in Melbourne, you are more than welcome to come try it in person :)

thanks for that! ill look into that there!!

I presume no direct knock offs are made of them, ie there only cheap cos they look the same but are chinese ones lol

Works Bell Rapfix II

That's the same one that I have too. All black.

On the Works Bell, on the hub part that bolts onto the boss kit, on the bottom of it, it has that WB icon, along with a kanji etched to show authenticity :)

    • I can see between the water jacket and cyl 3 there wasn't a hard line of combustion gas. It certainly appears that the issue is coming from there. Yes, checked the tension. All at 100ft lbs where I set them 5 years ago. These blocks can crack but generally when they have been over bored. Mine is only 0.5mm oversize at 89.5mm. They break between cylinders around the 91mm mark. No sign of that with mine. My gut feeling is the head gasket lifted a while back when the studs stretched and i bandaided it by retorquing the studs. It's finally let go.

    • So, version 4 intake is on its way I was looking at these a while ago but at around $200 or more it was a little pricey for something that might not work, but, I had it in my watch list, but, I got a message saying it was on special, and I had a code thingie to use, it eventually came in at $120 delivered, so BAM, BUY NOW.....LOL I'll need to have a look when it arrives but I feel it will "look" better than what I currently have, as it comes with a PCV fitting, so I will be able to get rid of the alloy pipe that goes to the throttle body with the PCV fitting  Well, that's what the voices in my head are telling me  Oh, and this happened today Yeap, it was a Trojan, and it was cheap, so I headed back to the hardware store and actually spent a little bit more on a heavy duty,  one that was actually recommended by a plumber mate, a Cyclone one with a fibreglass handle that is actually rated for clay The broken shovel will eventually be "modified" into a short handle shovel
