Rb26Dett Cam Clamps

Hi guys,

Was hoping for some help.

I've done a tonne of googling and I've had a problem finding cam clamps for my rb26dett head.

My mechanic originally had the head and the situation between him and I turned sour and once I got the head back I only received back 4 clamps.

Know anywhere I can get some?

They are matched to the head.

You can't just get others and slap them on unfortunately.

They are fitted then line bored/honed.

Yeah they're a bastard to get hold of. Only way to get them is if someone has a totally rooted head (no, not the chicks at the pub) that they can be stripped off and as Ben says the machinist will take a bit off the bottom of the caps and then they're line bored to match the cam. A brilliant machinist could make some at the end of the day (if they could be bothered).

yeah i know it's going to be a bitch but I really have no other option unless I buy a whole new head.

if the shop doesn't return them (and he retained them on purpose) ring fair trading. <-

Nissan won't do caps without the rest of the head, I've tried,

I had this exact same problem. Turns out its cheaper and easier to just buy another head. The quote i got for line boring(if i could get more cam caps) was more than the head was worth.

I bought a new head too. Saved all the stuffing around. Only downside is the newly cast heads are even worse than the original ones in terms of the oil returns! I spent about 6 hours on my new head with the die grinder opening up the returns. They've got even lazier over time!

Yeah I've investigated buying a new head from Nissan. Fortunetely for me I have been able to get in contact with my mechanic and through some discussion and long searching I got them. Thanks for the help guys really appreciate it
