Hi

I'm getting a bigger turbo for my gtt and I'm wondering if I need to get an aftermarket ecu and a tune or an apexi afc to controll the air:fuel ratio. Does anyone know what's better for a car ? Also nistune or power fc for an auto? I know there's a lot of threads but they all have different answers.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

If the car is an auto I dont think the power fc will work If I can remember correctly. I think your best bet would be nistune and there running r35 afm now with good results. The afc gives control of adjusting the afr's but your hands are tied when it comes to tuning the ignition curve. The last and best option but way more costly is somthing like a motec or haltech ecu. Where the options are endless.

Yeah, what MJTru said.

Essentially, for a stock turbo the AFC can yield acceptable results but if you are going for a bigger turbo (which means to really do the job right you also are going to change the AFM and injectors- and fuel pump if that isn't already done) then a nistune will probably be your best option for an auto. Perhaps even consider a Toshi tune (search for this).

You can run an AFC or nistune with the auto. The others won't pull timing on gear changes and will destroy your transmission pretty quickly from what I've heard.

AFC's are no good, even with a stock turbo there isn't much point of running a piggyback like that. I'm sure there was a time when it was a good idea but not anymore I guess.

nistune it is.
