^^THIS!

My 336kw hooked up damn fine! Sure it takes decent rubber a diff and good suspension but my skyline would barely spin 2nd if I didn't want it to!

Though with the nankangs that were on it itd spin 1st-4th and chirp into 5th lol

getting 300kW to the ground in RWD format is easy - I'm not sure why everyone makes such a big deal out of getting it down.. first thing is to get rid of that VLSD, then run some decent shocks and NOT the stiffest spring on the market, use some pineapples and offset the subframe a little, get some camber arms and lastly some decent tyres.. avoid brands such as Wanali, Ling Long, Triangle, Rotolla, etc. and you've got a car that will bite/squat/launch.

this all of this

Everyone cheats out on tyres and then bitches that can't get traction

I do agree, I've felt it in 2WD with good pilot sports and that alone was a decent difference, I guess perhaps what i'm trying to say is the 4WD will be more forgiving without being fully setup suspension wise and will let you get away with stuff that you couldnt get away with in 2WD. But yeh, the biggest thing is cheaping out on the handling mods. I did too - not going to deny it - when your in your teens/early twenties and money is tight you could spend money for power or on handling and I reckon alot would choose power.

Well i will be running e85 when i want to run higher power i think the ideal power range after all this feed back will be 250 to 300kw.

If i want more power ill just go buy a gtr so give me a year or so will buy a gtr lol

300rwkw can drive like a factory car these days, in fact a lot of factory performance cars come with over 300 of the showroom floor, the hsv models and fpv models both do, along with most of the euro cars and

yeah they also come with all sorts of fancy electronic gizmos to assure that power gets to the ground, unlike a 93 gtst that has an LSd diff and thats about ti

Do this!

Buy a hypergear SS1PU put it on E85

You will be making 250rwkw on low boost and 300rwkw on high boost.

This is the exact setup I'm going to be running on my R34.

Currently the SS1PU in my r33 with just normal pump fuel makes 21psi by 3500rpm and that's an easily usable 250rwkw for the street.

as has been said above, once they are modified they usually turn themselves off and if people put decent tyres and not the cheapest they can find , then a car with 300 will grip up nicely

I think GTRs are going to be a bit more expensive to live with than Evos and harder to work on .

People are right on the weight/capacity thing in later performance cars and XR6s are a prime example . Getting a smooth flexible 300 engine wasps from a Typehoon is really easy in todays emissions/consumption world . They're going to make lots more torque off boost and not need anything like the state of tune that an RB25's going to take to achieve it .

They're going to be able to pull taller gearing and have higher speeds in the gears which IMO is lacking in a Skyline 1st to 4th .

Just think what a GTS25T would have been like with an RB30 and around 250 Kw , could have had a 3.7 or 3.9 diff and a taller 1st gear . The Typhoon engine has variable cam timing on one if not both cams and that makes a difference too . Throw that at a 250 engine Kw RB30DET and it would be really smooth and flexible with todays control electronics and injectors .

I don't know if the rear suspension would be that different in a retro R33 but you can be sure it wouldn't have 16 inch wheels and I assume 225 tyres or whatever they had standard . The diff would possibly have had a Torsen - did later GTts have those ?

My latest rear tyres are Pilot Sport 2s in 255 40 17s and while I don't hoon around they feel better planted than the 245 45 PS3s they replaced . If I was going inside the diff I'd want a taller ratio and a real LSD of some kind , taller diff for a bit more speed in the lower gears particularly that uselessly low 1st .

I run cradle bushes and the SK Whiteline Bilstein suspension with fresh dampers .

OT I know but is there a 3.9 that bolts into a non ABS GTS25T , maybe something from an S14 ?

A .

This! And the right foot can also control boost!

What? Heresy! Are you saying I just wasted my money installing my EBC? Nooooooooooooooooooo!

Although, to be fair, my right foot cannot increase boost above the wastegate setting, no matter how hard I push down.

Too many people here are too serious about "traction" and "hooking up", its boring...

Lets face it a 300kw car is a weapon regarldess of how good or crappy your tyres are...

I ahd wheels for different occasions, I had some good rubber...and I had pretty ordinary rubber....

And on the street, it was more fun with crapper tyres, cause you could effortlessly do skids everywhere...

Sure it wasn't as fast, but it was more fun ..And I'm not Brian O'conner racing for slips, I have nothing to prove to anyone..

I'm just a boy with a toy that likes to play :D

^^agreed, but its more than a weapon, its angry, raw, loose animal that's almost outa control, in the 4wd you could probably eat your Macca's in one hand safely, in the skyline you'd spill your coke. lol

Haha come on you know what I mean!

You can easily have your boost controller set to 20psi and take off with 10psi from the lights if you want.
