exactly what I was worried about!

from a chain or a local guy?

Thanks :)

I was a local place . Complete windscreens. Only one in sa I think.

The fact the could do it so cheap really surprised me. So there is hope for you!

As long as they take their time removing the old screen, and don't gouge paint off everywhere around the frame.

Also, if you can leave the car undriven for a day or so, while the sealant cures;it will always be better.

I have used both cheap and expensive windscreen and there is a difference, i used shannons windscreen cover to get an O'Briens done and the service was excellent and the glass was nice and clear. I also used a discount windscreen mob for an older car I had and the quality of the glass was terrible, I think you get what you pay for with this sort of work.

I ended up getting a local mob, complete windscreens to do it. quick, cheap, no obvious damage afterwards. was about $250.

I have lost my windscreen wiper heaters now though....gonna be a major issue if all the scientists are wrong and we get hit with global cooling.

Most car parts seem to be cheaper here but not windscreens. Cost me $800 for a replacement last time - they did get the right tint. They offered the choice of the heater elements but for an extra $200 I gave it a miss (bit sorry now its winter!).
