R32 Gts-T Hicas Tie Rod.

Hey guys, just wondering if anyone can give me any tips on how to get the rear toe rod off the rear knuckle. I've tried shocking the knuckle but that doesn't seem to be working?

What sort of ball joint splitter have you got?

I don't have one

You need something to provide a force to drive the taper apart when you hit it with a hammer. Just hitting it won't cut the mustard.

If it wedge something and force it off while hitting it will that make it pop off?

that would then become a ball joint splitter, so...yes. But good luck with that, takes alot of force and hard to keep it from just slipping out once it gets under pressure. They're about $25 from supercheap, i didn't want to buy one either but have ended up using it a few times now.
