RB26 Oil leak from sump plug

Over the last few 1000ks i have developed a slow oil leak from my sump plug. I have tightened it slightly but dont wanna **** it by tightening 2 much.

I was told that when i change my oil again i should replace a washer... Can anyone confirm that this might fix my problem.. or if anyone else has had similar problem.

Replacing the washer should fix the problem. Copper washers can be bought from most hardware/automotive shops, or from Nissan. Only cost a few bucks, so just replace it and see if the leak stops.

this problem is getting 2 me.... i put a new washer on the sump plug.... didnt work.... re did the thread of the plug... with new plug... still leaking... GRRRR

any suggestions... or is it new sump i need.... if so... do u need sump gasket?

u shouldn't really need a new sump, unless maby there is a crack around the plug which u may not have been able to see if there is oil all around the outside of the sump. If not take it to a mechanic, shouldn't charge u too much...

try using a little thread tape the thread may have stretched and its leaking past the thread other than that it would be a crack or leak of that effect!!!

going to AVO tom... round the cnr... gunna give em a go... they reckon they had similar problem with other R32 GTR in there

you can get whats called a 'bonded washer' i use these in the hydraulic indusry. they have a rubber seal on the inside of a steel ring. they seal any flat surface with out tighting it to much!!

How'd you fix it? Mine has started doing the same thing, its bloody annoying!

would you be able to use some of that red gasket sealant paste (the reddy/orangy one) around the bottom of the bolt, pop it in and hopefully seal the leak?

I'd thought of this, i'll pick up some from work tomorrow and give it a go......
