A turbosmart unit on the piping between the FMIC and the TB would be a Blow off Valve rather than a Boost Controller.

The Boost Controller is, in a stock configuration at least, clipped/bolted on the engine block next to the air intake. It has an 'in' and 'out' valve; the 'in' valve plumbs in from a tee piece off the boost line running down the front of the engine towards (and then over down to the turbo), the 'out' valve plumbs in to the back of the intake (at the top, just in front of the aircon [i think..] line). Sound like something you've got?

I don't have a photo of a complete engine bay on hand =/

Drives so much better but should factory boost gauge be way off the scale:-/ But my constant under load stuttering has gone:-) Could someone please post up a pic of factory boost controller piping:-)

Here's one I prepared earlier :)

Yeah, if unlimited boost, afm maxed out, gone into rich and retard to try to save the motor. You'd want to do a precautionary comp test to make sure the motor hasn't been damaged.

Glad you found it!
