Hi all.. I have a skyline 350GT 04.

Im having issues with the climate control... On 18 degrees the AC works fine for cold.

The problem is even on 18.5degrees the temperature is like having it on full heat setting, doesn't seem to be

holding correct temp...

Is this some kind of resistor or part replacement?

Im also looking at getting the notorious ripped drivers seat fixed on the leather/ vinyl seat.

I was wondering if it is possible to remove the seat BASE only with removing the whole seat? ;)

When someone has pulled apart the panel near the drivers knee, when they have refitted it they have not properly (or at all) connected the pipe that senses cabin ambient temperature. If you pull off this panel, in the left hand side under the mirror fold-on button you will see a little pipe that is supposed to be connected to the panel on the left hand side where there are some little cuts in the panel for the pipe to 'breathe'. I bet that is your problem.

If it is anything like the sedan seats. you need to remove the whole seat so you can dismantle it.

Thanks for replies... Seat base was relatively easy to remove. Removed full seat then seat base... :woot:

As for the Climate control issue I checked the pipe on the back of the panel as discussed and the pipe was STILL attached. I tried to get my hand as far as I could and followed the pipe.. It goes into a small grey box near the back of the stereo and has a hole on the top of the little unit... It looks as though it should have a pipe on top of the grey box. I had a good feel around as far as I could go and there doesn't seem to be a pipe!

could there be an electrical or part issue?

Of course, the sensor or wiring could be stuffed, but usually that sort of thing throws a code.

If you were local I could plug the consult into it and check the in cabin temp is correct, that would at least tell you the sensor is fine or not.

The sensor is separate to the hose. It is in the hose fitting on the 'kick panel' end and should have a cable connected to it. The hose is just there to draw air over the sensor.

Thanks for replies!!

So im guessing I have to get it on a fault code machine or probably cheaper just buying the sensor?

After taking my seat out the AIrbag light keeps flashing on now!! Arhh!!!!! :verymad:Everything plugged back in OK under the seat!

Is there a way to reset ECU without a trip to Nissan? Take off Battery Earth for a few minutes work?

If you had your battery connected when you undid or re-did your airbag plug, it causes it to throw a code - I have actually read reports of the airbag going OFF when it is plugged back in with the battery connected. You might have dodged a bullet. Some codes can go away by unplugging the battery and leaving your headlights on for 5 mins to completely flatten the battery. Give it a go.

The airbag circuit can go off even with the battery disconnected, as there is a residual device that powers them even if the battery is damaged. Not something you want to muck around with.

I can clear codes on the Consult 3 like I said, but where are you located Gavin? Makes it hard to know if I can help. Otherwise go to nissan, and be ready to bend over. :P

I am fairly sure the airbag light will clear after a certain number of 'ign on/off' cycles with no errors detected.

I used this process which worked after fixing the wiring in the seat, before I had my Blazt cable.

Hey all... Does anyone know where I can order a new sensor for the climate control at the drivers left knee area?

Any Part number at all?

Im thinking its probably just best to replace the sensor and hopefully this will fix the climate control heat settings problem???
