How Do I Remove Ornamental Plate?

On the coil pack/valley cover, there's an ornamental plate. I need to remove it for future use, because it's discontinued.

The adhesive is very tough.

So far I've been using acetone, hair dryer and fishing line. Is there a better solvent and does a hair dryer help at all?

I've only progressed 15% after an hour.

If applying heat is working the best, maybe buy a proper heat gun. You can buy an Ozito heat gun from Bunnings for about $30 and they go too around 600 degrees C.

I've got a heat gun at home, if you can wait until tonight Terry?

Maybe a very thin guitar string or piano wire from the music shop if the fishing line isn't robust enough?

I used a butane gas torch, the kind you can silver solder with.

Expect to burn some paint, but that's about all that will soften the factory double sided mounting tape enough to allow you to remove the plate without damaging it at all.

That looks the way to go with high heat - much hotter than a hair dryer. Thanks guys.
