Hi All.

I have an 07 V36 (VQ35HR) and I think I have a very minor miss. When accelerating lightly usually uphill or hard acceleration I can feel an ever so slight sense that the power is not smooth and I can only describe this like a miss. There is still plenty of power but the delivery feels like it could be smoother. Before I go changing plugs ($100 for set of iridium's) could there be anything else to look at?

I have data scan but not really sure how to us it to identify this sort of issue (assuming there are no code issues).

Thanks.

Just change the plugs, good chance they are flogged, or the previous owner skimped on them.

Gives you a good chance to clean the coilpacks and check the rocker gasket isn't leaking into the plug tubes.

Got the spark plugs and off I went to replace them. Even got a new socket to fit as is has a 14mm hex which is tiny. So started on the passenger side and could only remove one plug. The socket seemed to be slipping of the hex. I though maybe the socket was too thick so I ground down the outside of the socket thinking it was fouling on the outside of the plug hole. Still no luck. So I stopped and put it all back together again. I have only replace one plug and didn't bother on the driver side as I'm sure I will have the same problem. I didn't want to strip the spark plug, thinking I'll have to take it to the mechanic and spend $200 on labour unless someone here can help.

Is there a special tool for this job that only Nissan has? Has anyone had this problem before.
