hey guys i only just joined sau and im also a turbo virgin! only ever owned v8's, i have just bought a r33 gtst that im turning into a track car. i after some advise and helpful hints to doing a power upgrade. the mods that is on it atm, is exhaust and pod filter only to my knowledge. im told with doing fmic, injectors, afm, ecu, turbo and ebc, i could get a comfortable 300rwkw which is what i want! i would like to keep standard exhaust manifold if i can and just bolt a newer bigger turbo on that. i am also looking at a power fc d-jetro, is this a good ecu to choose? also what is good bang for buck? can i plz get some advice on what to do and buy to make this power?

Turbo selection for track work can be hit and miss, you will need a larger rear housing to reduce exhaust temps at the very least.

Are you considering e85? That will also change your turbo selection for 300kw.

Look guys I really no f**k all about this hence the reason of getting advise from you guys! I bought the power fc d- jetro ecu today. The guy I bought that off said get a rb25det neo turbo and hiflow it! Reckons that will give me the power I'm chasing no worries!post-135918-14076767476698_thumb.jpg

If its a track car then the rules change, it will spend a lot of its time in the top end, this is where a GT35 sized turbo and some 1000cc topfeeds come in along with the usual support mods, later when the motor blows, consider slapping a RB30 in there and you'll be able to re use these parts to push 400kws.

You could use a 0.63 rear for the RB25 and a 0.82 for the RB30, win win..

ok guys you are worrying me! will the ecu i bought work for me and i have bought everything now accept injectors... i keep getting told 2 many different things off to many different people... so i have been told to run 2200cc injectors which you can buy brand new bosch ones on ebay with loom for around the $750 mark! so my next question what diameter are the the gtr rails where the injector sits in 11mm? and will a gtr rail fit on my rb25det engine with the standard type inlet

manifold?

You do not want 2200cc injectors. They are massive. Any Bosch EV14 based 1000cc injector will be fine though. I would choose an EV14 injector over any old tech injector ANY day of the week. Except for one problem. Old RB25s have side feed injectors and if you want to run decent new injectors you wil have to convert to top feed, which is an exercise. Contact Scotty (he's even posted in this thread!!!!!) for what injectors and gear to convert will cost you.
