I have a Xenon HID kit on my car and need a replacement bulb. Aparently these are not very common in australia yet and I am finding it very hard to find anyone who sells these globes.

Can anyone tell me where i can get these globes in australia, preferably sydney?

Here is a picture of what they look like.

I just bought one for my gtr.. cost was around $230 per globe. See HELLA or NIRVA.. I think Bursons was the cheapest. Remember they all come out of the same factory "OSMAN~ I think"

Ouch! $220 per globe !? Try this guy -- US$80 per set of original Philips D2Rs:

I found a place in sydney that has them in stock. For anyone in future who has this problem try autojoy in paramatta. I got the crystal purple D2C globes (which is the same fitting as D2R) for $200.

They will be getting more colors soon.

Who makes those globes? And $200 is a bit of a gouge IMHO.

The only globes you want are the original Philips or Osrams, and you shouldn't be paying more than US$60-80 for them (so about A$100).

Are u sure they are the same globes though. I also spoke to philips directly and they quoted me $380 for the 2 globes. Not as bad as BMW though where all the latest cars are coming out with xenon HID globes and u would expect to pay $500 for one globe.

The philips part no. is 85126 and the type is D2R. If anyone can find a set in Australia for less than $200 I will be impressed. I spent 2 days searching for these.

90% of places had not ever seen or heard of of these globes (One goose at auto 1 told me its not even an automotive globe, I told him yeah I got it off my boat)

9% of the places had some idea what they were when looking through their computer systems, they had none in stock but could order them in for a small fortune.

And then autojoy had them in stock for a great price.

The brand was Kaixen D2C and they have a webpage www.kaixen.co.kr not in engrish though.

Damo: Yes, I have personally bought from aznboy before -- a set of brand new original Philips D2S bulbs (part no. 85122) which I have sitting in front of me. Total cost was US$65 shipped (so about $90).

Those globes you bought are, I am afraid, likely crap. For starters there is no such thing as "D2C": its a marketing gimmick. Moreover, the bulbs are likely to have been rebased in Korea or (worse still) China, meaning they may only last a few months. If you can, I suggest you take them back...

If you are buying HID globes, only buy Philips or Osram originals. Everything else is not worth the money. If you don't believe me, check out:

Edit: Also, never buy anything that is rated higher than 4100/4300 or at the most 5000. Anything higher and your wasting light output for "coloured" lighting.

What is aznboy? Sounds like the way to go, getting them shipped from the US. But why would have philips quoted me a price 4 times that amount.

aznboy711 = seller on HIDForum :) See:

Because that's the price Philips charges retail customers. OEM pricing is an entirely different matter.

    • And also there were for sale scams and the like. For sale posts need piccies, and not having piccies makes it harder to do a driveby scam.
    • And I forgot to add my *** footnote to the above post, which was that the pipework mods would be even more significant than what had to be done for the highflow. So just add that onto the list. Pipework mods are no killer, just made the tasklist longer at a time when extra tasks were not welcome.

    • pffft! My alignments are starting to take 3-4 weeks each. Bugger overnight - that would be a dream! Overnight is when I leave it on stands with the rear suspension in pieces, hoping I can remember where I was at when I come back to it. I have to set the car up on a level surface so I can get decent camber measurements, then try to set the RUCAs to the right length to get that right. Then I have to put the car somewhere else where I have enough room to set up the bumpsteer gauge (laser, paper, mirror), so I can dial out that. Then I need to go measure camber again because changing the tension arm length affects that also. Then I need to measure toe, and I can't do that to my own satisfaction at home, so I have to put it on an actual aligner. Then I have to go back and fix the camber again, and if that took more than a half a turn, decide if I want to set up the bumpsteer measurements again. I previously had the bumpsteer almost completely banished and then I started changing things again! And that's only the rear end. Not even gotten to talking about the front yet. And this has been going on in the context of me discovering a seized bolt in the LHR FUCA bush at the upright, hence needing total disassembly to replace that bush and the others that were not far away from the same outcome, replacing sphericals in the front end and making a mistake that resulted in needing to do it again, which is only half done right now. It's a selfmade nightmare. Only have self to blame, etc etc. But regardless, I am so complelely unable to utilise the services of a normal wheel aligner that I have no choice. I haven't found a shop in my city that does "race" alignments - and by that I don't mean I want my car to be set up for racing, but the set of adjustments that I have available and that need to be used to do the alignment are the same as you'd find on a race car. I haven't looked everywhere, but there doesn't appear to be the equivalent of the motorsport focused shops that are present in Sydney and Melbourne. And such an alignment would cost $300, and you only want to do it once in a while, and you don't want to find out that you have to replace bushes and bearings and such while you are spending that $300 so you have to come back and spend it again a week later. So I stay living in my self made nightmare for the moment.
