Yes my Whiteline bars are sitting in the shed until the car visits the mechanics.. Better their hoist then me crawling under the car on ramps.

I belive that stands are no good for a sway bar changes as the wheels must not droop.

Actually I don't believe it makes any difference. The bar moves inside the bushes as the wheels go up & down. If both wheels are hanging (on stands) or in normal position (on ramps) it will install OK. Would be difficult if one was up & one was down tho, lol.

Assuming not troll. You can also put jack stands at usual jack locations on sills (with suitable adaptors i.e. wooden blocks), which will leave the wheels/arms free to move up&down if required.

I suspect he's asking about where he can position the axle stands. I use the subframe near where the LCAs attach for my M35 Stagea, but even that makes me a little nervous, I'm used to Commodores where everything's made of iron or stone.

when I replaced my clutch, I used a small piece of timber on the body rails and put the body stands on that, just next to where the 'tie down' brackets are. In that spot they were out of the way enough for me to work.

It can be a pain to have your body stands close to the suspension component you are trying to work on, and needing to get around the body stand all the time.

How do I raise it to put stands under the front. I'm going to fit a Whiteline 27mm sway bar

Drive it up onto a 4 x 4 block of timber. You will be able to roll a trolley jack under and jack it up easier. Do the reverse to get the jack out.
