Hell, I ran a mid 12 with a hole in my radiator and no belts!! lol

Way to wieght reduce

I would like to see half the team back up events to show a vechicles versatility and the other half dedicated discipline to show what can be done with a certain vehicle in a certain discipline

Problem with half the team backing up as we've said though makes things boring to watch and reduces spectators. Of which there were not many from SAU I'll add.

Would rather see 15 people get the chance to compete and show the best of what the club has. Also makes it more fair so there's more people involved.

Well I didn't even know about this event til the last round, would have liked to come see some of the rounds, and if my car was ready for the trackday that Monday instead of having to spend the weekend touching things up I would have been down for look see

The best of what the club has is cars that will dominate every round, and how do you get an invite to compete or should I say who do you have to know ?

There was details about every round in the NSW section before each event, seems odd you missed them all...

Haha, oh ok, I don't really venture into the NSW area much, my bad, I usually check my content and recent posts and new topics them leave :(

I do go into the event part fairly often though, was it posted in there ?

I'll have to keep checking for next years ones

SAU NSW Exec team was approached by Nulon and given the task to select the teams and as i had some free time i took it on... I arranged both rounds one and two and for round three i needed help so i couldnt think of anyone better than our fearless drag guru Kat!

2015 will be the same deal, i believe that the guys that put in the time and effort to make 2014 such a great success will also get some form of priority when it comes to doing the teams, the event is not sorted as yet but it sounds like the teams will be smaller in 2015 which is going to make things even tougher!

The Hillclimb at Buladelah was hard to fill a team as not many wanted to make the treck, the track day was the exact opposite, it was hard to pick and choose BUT the guys that actually made the effort to represent SAU at Buladelah were given priority, it will likely be the same situation for 2015. All of the guys that competed in those 2 rounds actually offered to represent SAU in round 3 as well to back up all round but the decision was made to send some super quick cars to get Nulon the publicity it deserved for arranging an epic event, and also so we could take the win

The guys that competed this year all put a lot of time and money into prepping the cars and as a result of the track days some breakages occured (I even blew a gearbox prepping for the event)... So a big THANKYOU to all of them... And again well done!

Also the idea of posting it in the NSW section is that it was a club event so it was put there to get the regular SAU members involved.

I do want to add that it is easy to openly critique an event like this that is open to the public. But I applaud Nulon for taking a grass roots approach to come directly to us clubs for the event. These are real club owner cars that competed. It was very difficult for the club execs to select our team to represent us and there never is a way to make everyone happy.

Kudos to everyone's hard work and Nulon for taking the initiative to create such a great series. I'm sure they will take learnings from this year and make next year's event even better.

    • If that's the wiring from the factory, I'd be inspecting the loom everywhere.   Any signs of that anywhere else, and seriously, I'd get rid of the car ASAP before the electrical gremlins make it worthless, or it goes up in flames on its own. That is scary how that insulation is failing!
    • I should note too as I have all 4 wheel speed inputs to the emtron I now have the emtron controlling the attessa solenoid for 4wd/traction and launch control strategies.
    • It works quite well with the adjustibility within each of the programs of the turbolamik. Essentially p1 is drive and lockup comes on like a normal driver.  But in program 7 I have customised it to not request the lockup clutch to engage until something like 6500/7 when slip was the lowest.
    • Yep, I like that. The tags are only on the first post of a thread and we don't get huge numbers of new threads. Also, I plan to add some more report types and we could have a member report type like 'review tags' then members could flag if they thought a topic wasn't tagged correctly.  No way man, I dig the input. Thanks!
    • It's a valid thought. There's not exactly that functionality already (when creating a thread) - that's where the OP can use/create any tag they want. We'd have to come up with a way for the user to request their tags get reviewed or something. Otherwise the mods would have to review every new post's tags (for those that have them, anyway). There's kind of that functionality already exists to some extent, post facto of starting the thread, where the OP or any other user could report the post to admins, and request that tags get reviewed. We could do this already, and any user could already have made such a request. To make it a part of the forum proper, it would require an initial and an ongoing education programme, so that people know that it's a thing. OP based tagging/request for review would also require at least some (probably most) of the user base to be told that it's a thing they can do. Both of these things probably wouldn't spread too far and/or get used very much. If it was the standard approach on a lot of different sites, then it might do, because people would be used to it. Prank's approach to this differs from my original thought, by leaning into tagging. Which is fine - it's possibly better than what I originally suggested. In fact, I just went to the R32 GTR wiring diagram thread and added tags, including "Library". That's probably a good way to use tags and the idea of a library. We just have to drag together an (organised!) index of threads or posts that have that tag. I have yet to do any of my own follow up by pursuing worthy threads and posts and reporting/marking/tagging them for the library, such as the @Sydneykid stuff I was talking about, and possibly any amount of @Lithium 's and others' posts. At least if I tag them Library, we'll have a start.   Back to @Wazmond's idea as it relates to @PranK's, we might have some sort of a list of tags that are already used to scrape for this library. I'm not entirely sure how that would be presented or used, particularly if it got long. But it's yet another idea!   cheers
