Who else has the problem of their fog light h3c globes blowing after a month? They go black and cloudy.

From memory i tried reversing the wires and they wouldn't work.

I've tried 12v 55w repco ones, narva and cheapo chinese.

I'm getting 12.1v through positive (I'm not the best with a multi metre, I was on dcv20 / positive plugged into 10a dc / negative plugged into v*ma

When replacing the globes, be sure not to touch the glass with your fingers. The oils on your skin create hot spots on the globe, which significantly reduces their life. Wear nitrile gloves or similar if touching the glass is unavoidable. I would also be ensuring that you have a nice, clean earth.

I was about to edit my post to write that i use tissue paper to cover the glass haha.

Just tested it again while using the negative as my multi negative. I got 12.18 and when i turned my headlights on i got 11.5 It was fluctuating a bit, but held steady after a while.

whats your battery voltage, sounds like some problem there , system should run around 13.5 to 13.9 v , could be battery , alternator or just a slipping belt never the less there is a problem , are they white or yellowish .

Bat and alt is fine, runs as 13.5 on acc and 14 when the car is on.

I think i may have found the problem. The 'spades?' that connect onto each globe terminal were tight each time i fitted new globes, but come loose when hot. so I've made them tighter and all seems to be ok, except for buying 1 dodgy globe that came loose in it's casing after a few weeks weeks :/

and they're just the standard 55w globes, not white or blue
