$ for GT-R Body shells anyone?

Hey Guys,

I'd like to know if anybody know how much are these GT-R Body shells (R32, R33 and R34) are? I am considering a project to enterain meself for a year or two.

I've searched all over the net for prices but i can't get the price for body shells, anywhere and would like to know how much is it and where is it all this...

Your opnions would be good and also some tips...

well you can get an r32 GTR landed from about 10k including all running gear (not that it would all be running ) But if you need to register the car you would need to either buy a 15 year old car or buy a full working undamaged stock car to import under sevs rules.

Are you saying i'm better off buying R32 GT-R and modify a bit? than building ground up?

If you were going to get a cheap R32 GTR it would have to be a project car because they all drain big money when things break

Ide get one and also buy a cheap car i can use for work etc

First get the engine out and worked on by a good rebuilder/workshop, while thats happening do alot of the body/suspension/interior etc work yourself as its not quite as hard and u can save alot of $

depening on how much u have upfront to do it up, shouldnt take more than 6months tops,

worth it if you got the time & money, you basically get a brand new gtr for less than the price of a used one

I should have said, it depends what are you trying to do! Are you looking for an immaculate road driven r32? A club or race car?

Personally I would go with something that is mechanically a bit simpler than a GT-R -- between 4WD, twin turbo, HICAS, ABS, etc, etc there are lots of bits that can go wrong and will cost you a fortune to buy bit-by-bit. I would look either at an older Skyline (you could always copy Duncan, the luck bastard) or perhaps something else with a strong community. Personally I have always wanted to do an AE86 to truely worship the rice boy within me -- "LW say, follow the path of Takumi-san: AE86 for you"

(Although I am being a little silly, I am quite serious though..)

For an Australia delivery AE86 with 4AC, that cheap but not all that fantastic (depending on condition, particularly rust).

I did this. Bought a clean (not F*cked) GTR, rented a shed, pulled it apart - everything, dipped shell, re built - everything, re- assembled to concoarse standard, modified many things along the way for performance/reliability etc...

Total build time - 4 years. (using mainly weekends and nights) (I am an experienced marine engineer by trade so I knew what I was doing)

build cost - $80G plus.

Was it worth the exercise? - doubtful

Would I do it again? - Absolutely!

Did I lose money when I sold it recently - yes, obscene amounts.

Overall, not a task I'd recommend for a 17 year old for a first project. Get a Datsun 1600 or something!

Put it this way, I'd of ripped the interior out of it 'drift spec' But seriously, obviously didn't look the dogs balls, but for $1500, pretty nice Cheap to run, 4cyl rwd transport, can't go wrong

hmm well i was 16 when i done my first project.

180sx with a rb20det...and even tho people say walk in walk out jobs for 4000gs there are always hidden costs for any conversion.. dont let anyone tell u diffa..thats were i went wrong!
