Want to know how I can bypass the heavy steering in my r32 has anyone done this by simply wiring in 12v to the plug in the rack?

My speedo cable isn't attached so Its normal steering until about 2 mins into the drive it goes heavy

And no I can't just re attach the cable as I have a 25 box and am waiting on a conversion part to come in and I want no heavy steering for matsuri in 2 weeks.

I've been searching and the most I've found is that someone said it can be done by some wiring.

Any other ways to bypass it without removing the solenoid and blanking it off completely?

Thanks guys

I thought the change from low to high power assist was a hard cut but perhaps it's not.

Perhaps it alters the duty cycle of the solenoid to give a smooth transition, thus variable power assist?

If this is the case, I can understand why they wouldn't want the solenoid activated constantly.

I can't comment much as I don't fully understand it , my mate was the brains behind it.

But if I'm correct 12v would make the steering feel rediculously light, or heavy. I forgot.

We tried a few different settings as there are 5 settings on the converter.

You could wire in a dial/switch and change it to your liking however I'm happy with how it feels at 5v so I didn't.

I shot this question to a pretty clever bloke on the UK forum and he suggested a 12V PWM running 80% duty cycle at 200Hz.

Then I did some Googling to find out what a bloody PWM was and surprise, surprise it's not all that difficult.

But if your reduced voltage works, then that's good.
