Need A Hatchback...

Looking for a reliable hatchback...

Thinking either a 2008 Ford XR5 Turbo or a 2007 Renault Megane X84 Phase II Sport 225 Cup....

Has anyone had any experience with these cars?

Any other options?

Hey mate,

did she buy it brand new? what year?

No we bought it in January it's a 2010 and the only issue we've had is a dead battery. and the only complaint I have is I wish it had a LSD, I'd still recommend them to anyone

what price range are you looking at?

My personal preference is the Mazda 3 mps.

Or if you don't mind the look, a ralliart hatch(I think they're ugly).

Or a golf gtr if you want to keep with the euro thing.

I think would be a little cheaper on repairs than the Renault.

A mate of mine's got a mazda 3 mps. I had a drive of it. Goes like stink and very comfy. No dicky euro indicators/wipers either.

for that kind of money, I don't think you'll find the current shape.

But, the old shape flies further under the radar by having no scoop exposed and I feel as though it feels a little quicker.

You will be missing sat nav and bluetooth.

Both of which can be bought in aftermarket units on eBay for the 600 mark.

My mate with a 2004 mps bought a head unit from the US that has gps, Bluetooth, touchscreen, dvd player, etc for about $300 and it's made to fit in the dash like the stock one (made by a company that does standard shape head units as well as custom ones).

That's what I was referring to.

For aus stock stuff, it's about 500.

Keep in mind, get one that communicates with the factory can bus(so steer wheel controls work).

Test drove one of those... problem is I don't fit... need to get a special set of seat extension rails. $800+
