Will the wrong dash cluster stop my r32 rb20 from sparking?

I recently swapped my rb20 motor, loom and computer from one r32 shell to another r32, ever since I can't get it to run, we have had a diagnostics done on it today and everything is working there is just no spark pulse but there is injector pulse that works fine. Can the wrong dash cluster cause this? As soon as I turn key on to ignition the temp gauge goes off the clock and no battery light comes up on the dash but the rest do, I'm also only getting 5 volts at the coils too??? Any help would be greatly appreciated as I don't know what to do from here

When you say "wrong dash cluster" what do you mean exactly? If its another 32 cluster then there should not be a problem. Even if different model cluster I dont see how it could cause this problem (provided it is fitted right). Try borrowing a mate's cluster or buying a cheap 2nd hand one, swap them and see what happens.

Cheers
