So I just grabbed the heat gun and heated up the black glue stuff that holds them together, then gently pried it apart using trim removal tools - http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/4-pcs-Car-Auto-Door-Trim-Panel-Dash-Stereo-Radio-Audio-Removal-Pry-Tools-Kit-Set-/161274725381?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item258cb90405&_uhb=1

be careful not to melt plastic, also be careful not to bend or wreck stuff!

also before all that pretty sure theres some metal clips, at least there is on the r33.

good luck!

maybe worth a shot but i did this on my old evo 7 and it turned out looking new again!

i thought it was on the inside as well and thought heck i'll just try the 3m headlight restore kit and it only cost $25 delivered from US.
