HarrisRacing
I'm not sure by what you mean to small for a stroker, my 3.0ltr has 250 x 9.15 poncams with GT-RS twin turbos and with 28psi made 623hp at all for image.jpg As for relief for cam lobes, it really should be done to suit cam which would mean you red to get cam and then see what needs removing Sweet! thanks for that! Ben C34
Surely you could use any cam to figure out how much you need to relieve the head by measuring the current clearance and factoring in higher lift.... GTSBoy
Surely you could use any cam to figure out how much you need to relieve the head by measuring the current clearance and factoring in higher lift.... I thought the same thing but couldn't be arsed posting it. See how close the stock cam gets to the edge of the lifter bore (feeler gauge), add extra lift to stock lift from cam catalogue and subtract existing clearance = material to be removed from lifter bore edge. Maybe the easy way to do it is to drill and tap a hole into the lobe of a scrap cam, and use a cap screw put into that thread as a proxy for a real cam lobe peak. You can wind the screw in and out to set the lift of any available or conceivable cam lobe. XKLABA
You could use a stock scrap cam and measure the extra hieght just make sure you go a bit wider incase the new cam lobe is wider then stock, knowing the base circle would also help, I personally would rather use the new cam to get it spot on so you know you have taken enough without taking to much, but yeah there is always more then one way to skin a cat Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/448344-which-camshaft-for-responsive-29l-bc-stroker/page/4/#findComment-7386751 Share on other sites
Nismo 3.2ish
do you mean we shouldn't buy tomei cams because of bad quality controls on their lifter or because they might not have them in stock ? what spec are your camshaft? I wasn't aware of UE before this thread, their website is under construction and on their facebook page , all recents post are about american big build. so it must be the reason why not everyone knows about these cams. However, I had a facebook conversation with them and all they offered me was some tomei or mine's camshaft, nothing custom here. and when I asked them about the complete kit, as per piggaz 's recommandation. they never replied to my message. Either I don't have the right shop, they dont make custom camshaft anymore or they think I'm not a serious buyer.. you will have to be patient with UE giving you a response, they are not good at answering emails, call them Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/448344-which-camshaft-for-responsive-29l-bc-stroker/page/4/#findComment-7386808 Share on other sites
