Gating32
I recently put a 25det into my 32. It was all running fine until i did a little boost. After that the car started idling really high. When you are sitting there the car starts idling at 5k and when you are driving it starts to pull by itself. Could anyone help me with the reason why its doing this?? Cheers Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/448452-rb25det-idle-problem-help-5k/ Share on other sites

Gating32
I have checked for vaccum leaks and air leaks and nothing. Im thinking its the tps becuase it only idles at 5k after you have fully accelerated Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/448452-rb25det-idle-problem-help-5k/#findComment-7388227 Share on other sites
Ben C34
No way can the tps cause it to idle that high. Not possible. Have you checked the throttle returns fully all the time? Is your cable all frayed? Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/448452-rb25det-idle-problem-help-5k/#findComment-7388229 Share on other sites
Jordy32
The engine has to get quite a bit of air to keep revs at 5k which is why i wouldn't think it could be a sensor. there sounds like something is wrong with the throttle body causing it to stay open or a big vac leak; any bolts missing on the plenum or anything? Cxxo
My mate has a R32 with the 20det had the same issue but was "idling" at like 7k... it was his throttle cable getting stuck and the nuts where loose on the cable near the throttle body.I'd check there first. Ben C34
Wow! Crazy it could rev that high due to the leak. Glad it's sorted. Was it a map based ecu? Blackkers
crazy. I had a massive leak in the plenum due to a buggered gasket and it only caused a lean and hunting idle. on boost AFRs were below 10 and it felt pretty powerless. also wouldn't reach normal boost levels Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/448452-rb25det-idle-problem-help-5k/#findComment-7390171 Share on other sites
SargeRX8
I too had a huge leak. Got rough lumpy idle not a 5k idle Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/448452-rb25det-idle-problem-help-5k/#findComment-7390625 Share on other sites

Gating32
I've taken the throttle off and it closes fine, i checked the accelerator cable to make sure that's fine which it is. so might just take the intake off and change the gasket Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/448452-rb25det-idle-problem-help-5k/#findComment-7396587 Share on other sites
Ben C34
Or you could pressure test to find a leak. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/448452-rb25det-idle-problem-help-5k/#findComment-7396599 Share on other sites
