Rb25Det Idle Problem Help 5K

I recently put a 25det into my 32. It was all running fine until i did a little boost. After that the car started idling really high.

When you are sitting there the car starts idling at 5k and when you are driving it starts to pull by itself.

Could anyone help me with the reason why its doing this??

I have checked for vaccum leaks and air leaks and nothing. Im thinking its the tps becuase it only idles at 5k after you have fully accelerated

No way can the tps cause it to idle that high. Not possible.

Have you checked the throttle returns fully all the time? Is your cable all frayed?

The engine has to get quite a bit of air to keep revs at 5k which is why i wouldn't think it could be a sensor. there sounds like something is wrong with the throttle body causing it to stay open or a big vac leak; any bolts missing on the plenum or anything?

My mate has a R32 with the 20det had the same issue but was "idling" at like 7k... it was his throttle cable getting stuck and the nuts where loose on the cable near the throttle body.

I'd check there first.

So. Check the throttle.

As has been mentioned 5 times now.

Cheers for everything it was cause there were two bolts missing on the plenum so far shes running good

Wow! Crazy it could rev that high due to the leak.

Was it a map based ecu?

crazy. I had a massive leak in the plenum due to a buggered gasket and it only caused a lean and hunting idle.

on boost AFRs were below 10 and it felt pretty powerless. also wouldn't reach normal boost levels

I too had a huge leak. Got rough lumpy idle not a 5k idle

Probably cos your throttle is getting stuck.

Maybe his throttle is getting stuck? Dunno why it hasn't been mentioned before.

I've taken the throttle off and it closes fine, i checked the accelerator cable to make sure that's fine which it is. so might just take the intake off and change the gasket

Or you could pressure test to find a leak.
