Hello!

I'm rebuilding my rb25det neo engine. I'm thinking is my stock rods ok, if i change rod bolts to arp? But i have read some forums, if i use arp rod bolts, stock rods need machine? Can anyone know exactly what need do for rods? Can anyone have picture or something? Is the stock rods sufficient about max.600 hp power?

Stock fine.

The reason for having to re machine the rods due to arp bolts is the extra clamp load affects the way the rod and cap distort under clamping pressure.

Rods should be resized when uprating the clamping pressure, machined while clamped together with the bolts you are going to use. It's a tiny difference (it's not like the cap will move heaps) but on a serious build shouldn't be overlooked.

Now i got the arp bolts. I check the rods, and i dont understand why the rod caps need machined. Can anyone help me, and send picture for what is the marked what is the exact area what neew machined and how much?
