R6n350GT Posted September 21, 2014 Share Posted September 21, 2014 I have R33 S2 GTST with Vipec ECU which i believe is the same as a Link G4. I have a Innovate LC2 wideband with gauge and need to know where the Brown wire goes. - i read it goes to AN Volt input (any free ones) but which one ??? There is ECU Expansion 2 - 5V "An Volt 2" but you need the XS Vipec Loom , is there any other wire that can be used? I also have a MAC/Vipec 3 port Boost solenoid that has 2 wires (one for 12V switched) and one for DPO / PWM Output... KiwiRS4T Posted September 21, 2014 Share Posted September 21, 2014 In theory you can use the wires for the stock boost solenoid for the Mac valve but in fact (and I didn't install my Link) I have the optional extra loom for my boost, air temp meter and GM MAP sensor. If you go to the Link website http://www.linkecu.com/ you will find pinouts for your ecu although if you didn't install it you may not know which inputs/outputs have been used and which are free. 89CAL Posted September 21, 2014 Share Posted September 21, 2014 The boost solenoid can be hooked into the standard wiring for the boost solenoid. It's not polarity sensitive so can be hooked up either way. The wideband can be hooked into the standard signal wire for the stock narrowband sensor. I hooked mine up at the ECU plug. If you download the Vipec tuning software (VTS I think it's called) and go into the help section there is quite a bit of wiring information. R6n350GT Posted September 22, 2014 Author Share Posted September 22, 2014 ok i should mention it has a custom GTX35R turbo so the entire stock plenum, air intake, actuator, boost solenoid is not there anymore at all. Looking at page 21 you see what the outputs are for http://www.vi-pec.com/techdata/ecu-manuals-v-series/vi-pec-nissangts-gtr-plugin.pdf# then page 23 you can see the pin layout of ecu. So i use AN Volt 2 for wideband (but i need the XS connector for get to it as its a expansion plug not an ecu wire as such) but the boost solenoid. What Aux is free? i have none used on the ecu, nothing has been spliced in or connected at all. but all wires are used... Page 12. The expansion cable that you can buy and plug into the inside of the ecu has; Gnd = Sensor Ground Only +5V Out = Low Current +5V Supply DI5 = Digital Input DI6 = Digital Input An Volt 8 = Analog 0-5V input (wideband) or An Volt 2 = Analog 0-5V input (wideband) An Temp 3 = Temperature sensor input An Temp 4 = Temperature sensor input but where does boost go??? So seen as you don't need the stock o2 sensor you use the signal for it to hook your wideband analog voltage into The boost solenoid is the same. The R33's have an electronic boost control valve standard to go from 5 psi to 7 psi at whatever RPM. So use those 2 wires into your MAC valve. Doesnt matter which way around the wires are as the MAC valve is not polarity sensitive. Thanks for your help, i dont have the computer connector cable so have not got the software. I will download it now and see if it will allow me to open it up without connecting to ecu. the page 21 in manual says Aux 1 is VTC solenoid which is wire 106. The stock 02 sensor you say for the wideband, is called "Oxygen Signal Front" which is An volt 6 and wire 29 <--- so i connect the brown wire from Innovate to this then to confirm ? The boost solenoid i dont know where the electronic boost control valve is as it was removed, looking at page 21 and 23 is it "WG solenoid" Aux 8 - wire 25 <--- one of the MAC wires goes to this ? If I had my wiring diagram I could confirm and if you had the cable you could test it. I asked godzillamotorsports and they suggested getting the XS expansion cable to do the wideband rather than the o2 sensor lead. not sure why but ok. And any suggestions on wastegate plumbing ? Two waste gate side ports T'eed' together and then another T joins the plenum port (greddy) to the wastegates but they vent to atmosphere, the boost solenoid is just a T.. thats how i brought it... thus me wanting a MAC solenoid. Do i need top ports to be installed for the wastegate and how should they all go into the MAC solenoid? Thanks so much !! If the wastegate springs are close to the desired boost level you will be fine just controlling the lower port to open the gate. If you want to hold twice what the spring is rated to, you will need to direct boost to the top port, to help hold the gate shut as the exhaust manifold pressure rises. I use a 5 port MAC to control both ports directly, you can also use 4 port MAC valves in the same way. If you want to use the 3 port MAC you won't be able to bleed the boost off one port or the other, depending how you set it up. Since the springs are already strong ill use Single port connection Method, that what you referring to ? Top ports of wastegates vent to atmosphere Port 1 of solenoid vent to atmosphere Port 2 of solenoid to bottom ports of wastegates Port 3 of solenoid to Pressure only source (turbo/cooler pipe?) Run brown wire to 02 signal wire and and just select innovate in drop down menu instead of oem narrowband.
