Wires From Fuel Pump And Fuel Tank Won't Take Solder

Title says it all guys, I cannot get the wiring for my fuel pump in tank or my new wiring from my Walbro GSS342 to take solder. It just beads on the top. My solder is giving plenty of heat, but the solder will just bead up and either sit ontop of roll off to the side.

The wire in the tank, looks brown and shit but I have no idea how to get new wire in there. Will flux help? If so what type of flux? Considering the wire from my GSS342 is brand new, why won't the solder bind to that either?

The wires are getting enough heat, nearly too hot to even touch.

Fuel pump wiring is often steel, which won't take solder. As above, they will have to be crimped.

Or if copper, refinish the surface with a light sandpapering and clean with shellite.

Use a solder that already contains flux. Flux cleans the wire. The wires are not taking solder because they are either dirty or your application method is not quite right.

I thought it might be something like that so i tested some solder in another piece of wire near me and it worked. Even the brand new wire from the pimp wouldn't take solder. Ended up crimping.

My solder has flux on it and my point will take solder without beading it.

I have no issues, must be your solder.

Flux solder probably wont be enough. I use Comweld 965 soldering flux to prepare surfaces, and have had no trouble soldering to steel.
