Oh yeah sounds like a good plan, yeah his 2530 is mental as, and i will be taking small notes from his build when mine gets going.

any reason for the gtx35? over the normal gt35?

I have heard the gtx works amazingly with e85, producing rapid spool times, with the same power at a gt35 would normally put out. That being said, it is early days yet. I am waiting to see what numbers a few of the boys are making with holset hx35 / 40 turbos.

I am still here everyone. Car is still unregistered due to the defect notice, but I got the Engineering approval in principle paperwork back from DoT and forwarded it through to my engineer. Shouldn't be long now before she is back on the road.

I managed to pick up a neo head from a mate who had it inspected at Head Torque, so I will put that on the 3L in the shed. Also got a quote from Kelford for 272 cams. Once the engine in the car has the high mount/ffp/link g4/adjustable cam gears on, I will start stripping the 3L down and building it up with forgies.

Fun times ahead, still playing the waiting game which is doing my head in though.

Thought this could use an update:

Car was officially engineered and licensed on Friday the 25th of September. I also had a retune done as I had a track day on the 26th. Made 310rwhp (a lot less than the original dyno sheet) but a fat torque curve. Lucky I had a tune done, because the original tune was very aggressive, so the tuner richened it up and put some more timing in it.

Saturday 26th September - had the car licensed for a whole 1 day, and took it to the track. After around 12 laps it would't make boost. After stuffing around trying to fix it, left and gave it back to the mechanic.

Apparently my z32 afm died. So on that note: I just bought a genuine Garrett GT35R (.86 a/r), Progate 48mm gate, 1000cc Deatschworks EV14 injectors and that is all getting bolted on (with the high mount mani, freddy plenum, and link g4+ ecu) and tuned before the end of the month. I know it is a bit of overkill just because of a dead AFM, but pff, I can't be stuffed waiting any longer. Bite the bullet, and all that sort of stuff.

The tuner I have chosen is Anthony Scali, a very well known tuner in Perth, maybe even Australia. I believe he was the tuner of ND4SPD - the record setting 32R at Racewars.

I also picked up some smoked LED tail lights, radiator cooling panel and front lip/diffuser combo. Will hopefully be getting all that on, along with some side skirts and rear pods before the end of the year.

Attached is some porn for your viewing pleasure. Got it detailed before the pits.

Also bought a turbo blanket, with heat wrapping for the manifold and dump, and Turbosmart adjustable FPR. Car is coming along nicely. Should be started and running on a basic tune end of this week.

Booked in for Monday for tuning. Was originally today but had a few issues with parts not arriving on time and had to reschedule.

Engine pretty much done.

Ended up at 440rwhp @ 20psi on 98. Tuner ended up pulling back as it was starting to knock, and he knew how much abuse it will be copping, so he thought it rather safe.

It will be going in for a retune, apparently my boost controller is old school, and he wants my ECU to control boost, so he needs to get an attachment for it. So that will happen eventually.

Very happy with the power it is making now. The 6 boost sounds amazing, and the dose is great.

I have interest in a lot of the old parts, and I am starting to sell them to fund the body work.

Should be done early next year.

Anyway @ sleptema nice work. The car looks to have come along nicely. Must feel pretty good with that power. E85 should get u closer to the 500whp target.

Cheers mate. Appreciate it.

Yeah looking over 'money vs power gain' upgrades, e85 is certainly the way to go for the next tune. May get a fuel cell and new lines priced up. I'll get the body work done first though. And I really have to start putting more toward a house.

Just upgrade your ecu now and run a Map sensor with a fat intake pipe no need for a pissy little afm then.

Running a link g4+ with MAP based tune.

Soooo last week had an old lady hit me from behind, damaging my rear bumper. When we pulled over at a petrol station I was outside my car inspecting it, and she reversed into my front bumper. Unreal.

Damage isn't bad, both bumpers will be getting resprayed and all covered by my insurance. Because the car is a grey import it has gone to a small repair shop. I took the liberty of dropping my body kit off to them, and they'll spray & fit it for some extra cash on the side. Should all be getting done before the end of January. Fun times ahead.

Only problem is I have a feeling I'll have to raise the front coils up, as it will be ~50mm from the ground. May invest in some new shoes to fill up the guards better if that is the case.

Fun times ahead!

Body kit is on. Looks mint! But all the good paint makes the rest of the bad paint on the car look worse.

Remember in the above post where I mentioned it would be really low? Yeah I've already cracked the front bumper. A bit devo, but not the end of the world, half expected it at some point.

Hey bro. The cars coming along very nice! Good figure on mild boost for that turbo too.. and yes swap to a flex tune..best thing you can do honestly..the smell of e85 alone is worth it let alone the power, responce and reliability of it :) shattered bout the front lip..i bought the same lip kit but changed mind not long after. Keep it up bro

So had the car serviced on Thursday and cracked the lip again getting into the shop. :( They remounted it a little better and cable tied it up. It's so low. I love it, but god it is scary going over bumps.

Galvsport did the service. Thrilled with the attention to detail they put into the service, although they did produce a large list of things to fix. I am happy though, because it has been the first shop to meticulously go over the car and find tiny things wrong, which is exactly what I wanted. Most of the items are small but much needed fixes. Some small like putting a bend in my screamer so it doesn't rest on an air con hose, others a bit bigger, like I will soon need rear subframe bushes.

So while I am up north this fortnight I will be pricing up and/or purchasing:

- Camber arms front and rear. I do have aftermarket arms, but apparently they are rubbish with a lot of play. So I have been recommended some better brands.

- Big brake upgrade. This is a personal choice, I just want more stopping power. Will also get some braided lines as well.

- New front lip. One that isn't so darn low.

- Surge tank/fuel setup. For science...

I think once I got the larger brakes on, converted to e85 and done the above service work, she is probably at the point where I need to start stripping down the rb30 in the shed and buying forgies for that.

I did look at stopping now and saving for a 34R, but they are so god damn expensive. Like 65k for a stock one! Mine will never be a GTR, but it'll be a heap more fun in the meantime than waiting 2+ years to be able to afford one.

Thats great..good to see that your mechanic is checking over properly..thats the reason i dont trust most...they dont do it properly..yep 34rs are only getting more and more expensive..its like wel nevwr get there aye haha..keep us updated

Bought a DW300 intank pump to use as a lift pump....
And bought an Aftermarket Industries SP800 surge tank with twin Walbro 460 pumps and a turbosmart FPR2000.
E85 here I come :D

Also sent an email off to Link about getting an expansion harness with a flex fuel sensor, intake air temp sensor, wideband o2 and boost control solenoid.

Also priced up cusco front and rear camber arms and rear drag arms. Will be ordering them this week once Nengun get back to me.

Also some hardrace rear subframe bushes.

Also a nismo 300kmph cluster.

Also had a good look for a big brake upgrade. At this stage I am leaning towards ATTKD. I know they aren't the best or highest quality option out there, but it would still make for a good upgrade in braking performance. But at $4300 (fronts and rears) it will be a couple months before I will be able to afford them anyway so I will do a little more research before committing.
