Gtr Front Diff/sump

Hi all,

Looking into weather its possible to remove the sump & diff from an R32 Gtr without removing the engine?

Think the engines spun a bearing and it was a huge job to get the motor out last time (3 days in and out over a long weekend) and i'm really not keen to do that again.

Obviously if the cranks been scored of something, the engine will need to come out but as a first move checking the bearning sounds good to me.

Any help would be appreciated.

Surely that's impossible to do. Maybe by hoisting the engine up a bit it might happen with great difficulty.

And I would be surprised if the crank is going to be ok.

You have to seperate it from gear box as there is two bolts in there that bolt sump to rear oil seal housing

While it could be done in car I could drive with my feet, so while it is possible it's not a good idea
