Cheap mig haha. I have more money in welders than every cent in old mates stagea from site work actually.. Let alone the welders I have access to in the workshop. What qualifications do you have exactly to talk down a cert 4? Haha yeah guys so impossible to knock up some engine mounts hey.

Thank you!! It doesn't bother me to much man, all car forums are the same, everyone thinks being a wanker makes them look funny and tough. In reality they just look stupid, they don't have enough knowledge to answer a few simple questions so they start throwing around insults. some people just don't get it. Thank you for being the only one that actually read and understood what I said.

friggin hell there is some retards on here. The dude quite clearly says he is aware of it not being the best option, and explains why he is doing it, to get a cheap car going. But no, everyone has to run him down and rubbish his ideas, cause it's not what 'they' would do. F&*ktards.

If you have any info to help him, post it. Otherwise STFU and quit being keyboard warriors.

my last comment was supposed to be a quote to your comment whoops

I'm sure you do

Gogo name what you have

Heaps of money in mig welders but no money for a shell or decent engine?

Cool.

Anyway you know your answer. The tails haft will need changing. So either shorten it or lengthen it when you do the conversion. You can do it. You told us.

do you think I would rather spend money welders? I need to work I don't need a skyline engine, it won't make me any money will it. Actually if you can read I asked if any other tail shafts would fit instead of me modifying. Don't just say I said shit to support your argument. Will post a picture of all my welded when I get to my computer :)

Also it's pretty obvious calling someon and their plans retarded is a bit more than rude, and you know you were doing it. I didn't tell you guys anything and I wasn't rude to anyone who wasn't a tosser to me first.

Well to put it into perspective

I paid 4k recently for a registered tidy R33 Gts-t

Which is why some of us are saying its a waste of time

Wow that's cool, and totally irrelevant to my thread. I didn't ask for the price of registered 33s I asked for tail shaft help, I'm really happy for you and your purchase but I'd rather do it my way. I enjoy working on my cars and would have fun building it. Is it that hard for you to understand what I'm saying?

In what?

In anything really, mostly your fabrication qualifications. What right do you have to talk down a cert 4 in engineering fabrication? You wanna tell me I can't make some engine mounts? You seem like someone that works in an office to me. "Oh I went to tafe 2 days a week" hahah go on you pass a welding test and tell me it's easy

Hmmm. OK, so I'm not out. I'll come back in just for a laugh.

As to qualifications......Let me see. The last thing I designed for a customer weighs about 6 tons, was made from a mixture of mild steel, 304L, inconel, various bits of tool steel and all sorts of other bits and bobs. I had my draughtsmen (yes, plural) work up the 30 or so drawings for it. It took 2 weeks to draw, 6 weeks before that for design calculations and CFD modelling. Cost the customer about $200k. Oh, and they bought two of them. And each one is carried on a trolley that weighs about 10 tons, runs on overhead rails, has hydraulic adjustments for total height and vertical and horizontal angles, plus 2HP electric motors to drive along the rails. Operating environment temperature for the front end is about 1500°C. Well, the flame is probably more like 2000°C. Oh, and I did the site survey and the installation work in South Africa, which was nice. I got to go on safari in the Pilansberg afterwards. While I was there I visited another customer's site and will design something similar for them very shortly. I do this sort of shit several times a year, in between consulting for people to work out why they blew something up (hopefully without killing someone), or how they can stop something undesirable happening in their process, or just doing esoteric calculations on heat transfer, energy balances or the like.

So, I'm not going to tell you my qualifications. It wouldn't be fair to you.

    • All I can say Duncan is good luck and I hope that Neil did not run any E85 in Cheryl. I have recently experienced the full spectrum of fuel tank issues in my R33's that had been caused by E85 and contaminated fuel. When you take the cover off the top of the tank and have a look inside you will get an understanding of how easy it will be. Best case situation is clean fuel with minimal contamination. My GTR was like this and it was a very simple operation to just grab the fuel pump carrier bracket and slide it up and out of the tank. My three GTS_T's had different levels of fuel contamination that was probably caused by E85 in the fuel.  In the worst case all of the metal components in the tank had rusted to the point where there were pieces of rusted metal swirling around in the tank. This required the removal of the exhaust, the tailshaft, the complete rear cradle and the fuel tank. The components in the tank were that rusted that it took days to get the fuel pump carrier and the mounting brackets out of the tank. When the tank was finally cleaned, everything inside the tank had to be replaced. With the tank all back together I could then reinstall it in the car along with everything else that had to come out. Good luck and I hope that you find a clean tank.
    • It is a two door. It is black and also still has the OEM wheels and stereo. Exact model would be KR_R32RGFEL_SS According to GTR-Registry.com is a 2 Door Coupe; RB20DE; 2WD no HICAS; MT.F5; (11L) Projector Headlamps and Fog Lights; (12_) Electronic Active Full Auto Air Con (Climate Control); (13-14SS) V Selection -- Which seems to be accurate description of my variant. Will try to upload a few pictures soon. The OEM wheels look like the below image. Image is taken from the goo-net-exchange website.

    • Welcome Gabriel. At least your car has a glorious RB and not the shitty CA18. As MBS206 mentioned all the good bits can be added later. Two doors or four?
    • And half of them have been converted to turbos.
