265 On A 10 Inch Rim - Mickey Thompson / Nittos

Howdy partners,

Looking for tyres for 10 inch work meisters (measuring 11 inch wide).

I am looking at 265/40R18 mickey thompson ET Street Radial II.

Just a bit concerned that the 265 will stretch on a 10 inch rim - and they only come in a 265 or a 305.

Other option would be a NITTO NT05R which come in 265,275,285 and 295

Dont want lip hangin out from the tyre, justa nice flush fit.

What's the reccomend rim width according to mic key Thompson? That's your answer.

the reccomended range is 9-12 inches.. leaves alot to the imagination

If they have fat shoulders then it'll look fine. Are your wheels 10" or 11" wide?

Different tyres use different casings, if they recommend 9-12 then 10 will be fine, they should have a recommended size as well, check the Tirerack website

Rims are measured from the inside bead edges

265 is middle of the range for 10in rims - should be fine.

Pirelli has a very rounded shoulder. I had 265 Bridgestone and they looked pretty stretched, current 265 Falkens don't look stretched.

Track day tyres should be wider again.

i know its a different tyre brand but i have 265 hankook z221 on my 10" wide rims and the fitment is very flush

I've seen 305s with a recommended rim size of 10-12 also bunt can't imagine it would look great,

I have 255/40 on 10" and they look a bit stretched and will be going 265/40. The tyres I want do not have a 275, if they did I would use them

265 is also perfect on the BNR34 wheels (9") . Don't make me dig up my old picture .

If only you could cram 285 under standard R32 GT-R arches .

Good choice. Seem like a good all rounder, wet/dry tyre

Tried to get 275 but they do not make that size, next size up, 285 .

Yokohama recommend the 265 for the for their 10" rims, I will get the 265/40 18" after I burn some rubber off the old ones.

If you measure them they are actually about 280... I compared them to the 275 Z222 i have and the Z221 in the smaller size is actually wider!
