Yeedogga
Hi all, I had my r33 at wakefield park last Monday. She got very hot (i wasnt looking at the temp gauge) and I ended up splitting the radiator. I have just done a compression test on the motor with the engine cold. Clock has 115000 or so km. (Probably alot more in reality) Can anyone offer any insight into the numbers? Dry chamber left, wet (oiled) on the right I am upgrading turbo from hypergear highflow to a 3076. Do we think she will be healthy enough to bat on? Cheers guys!! Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/449626-compression-test-results/ Share on other sites
KiwiRS4T
She'll be right mate. Could go for years with a good tune. Is the GT3076 a worthwhile upgrade? How much power are you making now and what is your goal for the 3076? Oh I see you are making 287rwkw. Are you sure its worth changing the turbo? Yeedogga
Thanks for the input! Yeah the highflow i have is one of the older 'PU' highflows (retains stock comp housing) It makes good hp but the 'area under the curve' and response isn't ideal for what i want. Im hoping that a BB centre and a larger comp housing will help this :-) Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/449626-compression-test-results/#findComment-7406754 Share on other sites
Ben C34
Upgrade to the 3076 is definitely worth while, and I'm not just saying that cos you bought mine! Don't stress about those results man. Especially if you don't have a "before" result to compare to. People put a lot of faith in the results for some reason, but it's not really worth it. Now you have a baseline to compare against. I assume the engine still runs fine and seems fine? If that's the case it is fine.
