Hi.

I currently building and ordering some parts for my build and was looking for some thoughts about my plans about the engine spec.

Bottom:

*RB30 block 86.5mm

*RB30 stock crank

*CP 9:5:1 pistons 86.5mm

*Spool H beam rods

*Spool spline driven N1 oil pump

*1.5mm restrictor and one block off

*Ross harmonic balancer

*ARP main bolts

*N1 water pump

Head:

*RB26 head

*260-ish cams, maybe poncams?

*OEM intake

*Light porting/clean up

*ARP head bolts

*1mm or 1.1mm head MLS gasket

Fuel:

*Injector dynamics id1300cc

*Dual Bosch 044 pumps

*AN8 lines

Exhaust:

*OEM manifolds

*3" elbows

*3" exhaust

Turbo:

*Twin garret gt2860rs A/R .86

EMS:

*Link g4 extreme

The car is a street car that is used for drifting, but have to be street legal so oem manifolds are a must and turbos that look oem on the outside.

I want it to be as responsive as possible, reving it to 7500-8000rpm

and running it on E85.

Have anyone used a simular set up? I am a bit worried that the 2860rs will be small on the exhaust side or what do you guys think and is there something you would change in the setup?

Most of it will be perfect but you'll be holding yourself back with a 3" exhaust. Go 4" while you're at it. 3 Litre will flow a lot more air than the 2.6L.

Should be good for 400 kw's with that setup on E85 if everything is done properly.

Unfortunately as a novice I cannot give advise but I am about to do a similar build, except using the Nitto 3.2 stroker kit.

My car is 345awkw now and goes OK but still a little laggy as a DD = stroker. I am leaving some mods on that are there already and see how it works together before I go changing anything.

Already on the car,, a PT6262 CEA single turbo, UE 260 10.8 cams, hi flow 3 1/2" custom exhaust, water and oil mods, Haltech ECU, Walbro 460Lt pump ( maybe have to add one more ?) and the other stuff needed to make it all work together.

Cleaning the head up, OS valves, Haltech flex fuel sensor but will be running mainly on 98 pump, no E85 close to home and some drive line modifications.

Hoping for it to be done mid December, maybe wishful thinking

All the best, I will let you know how mine works with the existing mods. maybe it could be of some interest if you haven't started your build before mine is done as no one has used this combination, probably because it is crap but things can be changed if needed and sell the leftovers :)

Have you considered something like a GTX 63 or 67 mm machined into stock style housings? It's been done before and will give a much better result. There have been a few guys that have done that on here.

I was looking at Sequential turbos ages ago, have they been improved over the years. It just sounded like a good idea.

Know anyone that has used them on an R3.

The idea of being able to get rid of the lag and then boost up on a bigger turbo sounds great.

Im selling my gtx 63s (like new) set up to bolt straight on. You want these ☺

Made 500rwkw on 27psi and 450awks on 27psi still more in them. That was on a 26

Youre selling them Daz? Something better in the pipeline?

Buy these, they are great turbos and have done hardly any work. More than enough power to split a block. lol.

  • 3 weeks later...

im running similar setup as what you mentioned above, different set of cams and cylinder head ported quite heavily.

HKS GT-RS (-10s) turbo and ran 472awkw @ 30psi using only E62. Definitely could have easily pushed for 500+ awkw but my 1000cc injectors maxed out :). All of this was with my airbox still connected and not opened! :)

Would be interesting to see what it would be able to do with ID2000s
