Sadly, it seems my 03 has succumbed to the bearing/synchro failures we read about but hope never happens.

So, 2 questions:

1. I am reading that a CD009 is the box to get. Straight swap or are there some parts I will need to make it fit? ?

2. Who has these in Aus? Or do I attack the net,

Thanks for any help you may offer here.

CD009 is a direct fit. It is basically the same transmission with improved internals.

I don't think anyone in Aust, stocks new transmissions other than Nissan, and they will likely charge you a fortune.

I know someone who has bought from here - https://conceptzperformance.com/Cart/description.php?II=2887

The killer is import duty and GST as the value is over A$1000.

From what I have heard, the cost of rebuilding is more than the cost of a complete new transmission.

I would just get a wrecker box, or fix the one you have. Importing a CD009 is an expensive exercise.

Out of interest, what fluids are in the box you currently have?

If it is just a bearing let go it may be an inexpensive fix. I have a complete box here for parts, and bearings are cheap enough.
