Hi All,

I've had a problem with the brakes on my r33 for last year now and still trying to diagnose the problem... the brake pedal is very hard to press there is little travel when pushing down then it feels like I am hitting a wall and then have to push with all my might just to move the pedal down further and get some stopping power... this is my current setup...

Brembo calipers

DBA 5000 discs front

DBA 4000 discs rear

Hawk brake pads

I was told it might be a vacuum issue since the car running bigger cams and there would be less vacuum to assist the brakes... and since I had just had the discs/pads installed (at the time) I resorted to fitting a bigger vacuum reservoir/box and when this didn't work had a vacuum pump installed as well... Unfortunately this gave little to no improvement and the brakes are still very hard to press with little travel...

Any tips on what I or my mechanic can check to sort the issue would be much appreciated... thanks !

Have you replaced or checked the actual vacuum booster? Is it easier or exactly the same to press the brakes when the engine is running?

hmm It feels the same...

Had similar issues with mine

Turned out to be the booster replaced and now all good

Did you end upgrading to a different one or getting one second hand ?
