AJ annoys me when there is a team radio about to play and he just keeps talking and always seems to stop just after its over

A funny thing to compared to the Sky commentators - when the cross to a garage shot etc the Sky team says 'there's ________, who's been _______'

Meanwhile, channel 10 in the same position is pretty much just silent. Not a major thing but I just found it funny

Matt White is a useless commentator. Cant they swap him with Neil Crompton?

Dull race for the lead, but plenty going on at the back. My first reaction was "oh no not Arnie" but he did a good job...as others said better than old Alan.

Webber and Alan Jones were a good duo.Mark will learn he doesnt need to talk so much and clubbed with Alans low key I quite rated what they could be with regards to commentary. But Aus GP only so who cares.

Bigger concern, is Homo is going to cruise to wins unless Rosberg can dig VERY DEEP! RBR cant pass a Sauber...Fezz still only able to field 1 car....and McLaren a disgrace... that was the sort of finish we expected last year...not 12 months into new regs

Williams will struggle.../lotus still breaking my heart...and thanking god i have WEC to follow this year

Such a terrible effort from Renault in my opinion. They had the time and money to do better, were everyone else has gone up a notch they have stayed as is. Even AJ said he would rather their factory car Torro Rosso than the Reb Bull at the moment.

Poor Dan.

Good to see Kimi with some good potential but I have to be honest, as much as I waited with so much excitement to watch the race, about 7 laps into it I realised there needs to be some massive improvements to from manufacturers to help the viewers enjoy watching. The Mercedes white wash continues.

Just so disappointed with Renault efforts.

F1 has definitely lost something, 11 cars completing the race, why would anyone besides diehard supporters bother watching, it was a complete snooze feast.

If there was a repeat of the Bathurst 12 hour on, I would have watched that.

Fezz had problem after problem on Kimi's car last year...seems stupid mistakes in pitstops continue.

Engine freeze with a new engine formula and only 4 engines a year...well appears we hot lucky last year, and now the Mercs have a huge advantage.

Williams 4acing Ferrari for 3rd-5th looks to be the only thing we can take from the season. Mercs finish 30sec ahead when they were not even pressing

I wouldn't say that Williams will struggle. That is unless bottas can't race for a while. We all know that he's the faster of the 2 drivers both in quali and on race day.

If Bottas doesn't come good they should get Nasr back for a race or two. Then Van de Garde can drive the Sauber for that time (Keeps them out of court) and Williams will have Nasr and Massa.

In other news if that is the best F1 can do the formula is totally fkd. 5 cars didn't even make the start. Half the field either running 100's of hp down to protect their engines and no competition anywhere to speak of. Plus so many teams are either going broke or have no sponsorship. Probably only MB, RedBull and Ferrari are viable at present.

I think F1 has been on a roll lately. But this year looks woeful with quali performances over 1.3 seconds clear of the next team. Lets see what happens re the Williams and Ferrari fight....but with no McLaren or RBR in there it will be interesting to see if Lotus can not trip up like they did on the weekend and get in to 4th in the constructors

Well sucks to have to get excited about 4th place in the constructors. What happened to Grosjean? Loss of power - is that a rod through the block or a gearbox or something other than that?

As for Ferrari vs Williams. Ferrari has more money. Money wins.

Plus now have to put up with Johnny Herbert all year. He is better on the mike than Alan Jones but that is like saying VD is a better STD than syphilis.

Looked like a turbo went kaputt to me.

I see you prefer watching Safety Cars being refuelled to do enough laps to keep the 'racing' close than genuine racing.

No point whinging about Mercedes' advantage either - they simply worked harder on the new engine for longer than the other manufactureres. They're reaping that investment now. 99% of the time, F1 is dominated by one team with the others trying to catch up anyway. If you don't like that, perhaps you should watch a parity formula instead. Although they still seem to get dominated by the teams with the best engineers and most resources anyway...

There was plenty to hold my interest through that race, and to have me looking forward to the next one.

Unfortunately the next 2 races are highlights only on FTA... maybe that will better suit the guys who complain about it being boring anyway!

    • GTSBoy on your suggestion on another thread I had a look at those injectors and ended up getting them because of the quality.  Got the expensive ones.
    • Hey guys been looking everywhere to try and find the correct gtr hood latch support part number but only found the first half and when I search with that number it sends me to an r34. The first part I found was 62515. If anyone could help me with the rest then I’d really appreciate it. Or if there’s some alternative hood latch support that would work even better cause I can’t find any for sale. (Searched on upgarage, partsouq, buyee, rhdjapan)
    • If you've only done the upper control arms on the rear, AND you have changed their length (by more than about 1mm) to set the camber you want, then you will definitely need/want to install traction arms also. Adjusting the camber arms on their own WILL introduce bump steer and make the car unpleasant to drive. Most owners have no idea that their car could behave infinitely better than what they put up with. I'm not entirely sure what the Stageas need, but I am thinking that unless you have massive front spring rates and pretty soft rear springs, you have waaaay too much rear bar. Oversteer city, in my estimation. Combined with possible excessive bump steer from maladjusted arms, that could be a recipe for nastiness. ATR43SS2 is not a highflow. It is an outright replacement turbo. It's a little bit bigger than the largest highflow profile that Tao does. Probably a solid 300rwkW turbo where the bigger highflows will be about 30-40rwkW less. Nevertheless, we're only talking about ~300 rwkW, which is well within the abilities of the stock ECu to run with a Nistune on board. I would do so without hesitation - and I will be doing so when I get my finger out and actually get the injectors and AFM installed. But, if you would prefer to drop a whole lot more money on the ECU side, then I suspect you're looking at Haltech. The Haltech fanbois here will all spout on about all the available engine protection you can have, that you can't have with the Nistune option. And they're right. But it doesn't really come for free either. You will spend more money on extra sensors and the like, plus the work to install them. If the engine was built and therefore represented a big investment to protect, then I'd say definitely do it. If you view the current (and forever into the future) shortage of replacement engines as something to prompt similar protection, then also, do it. If you see a destroyed RB25 as an opportunity to put in a Mercedes or other V12 (like I kinda do)... then your perception of the risk/reward might differ. These are good injectors. You can also get a "better" set of the same with more flow matching, for more $$. 1000cc is where you will want to be. You will need an R35 AFM and adapter tube if you want to stay with Nistuned stock ECU. Otherwise, if going Haltech, you can ignore. As for intercooler. Just about anything will do. You're only talking about ~300rwkW. Just put a big core in there. Be aware that return flows do add significant pressure drop and will cost power and will make the turbo work harder to achieve the same goals. If you can manage a proper crossflow, do it. I'm keeping my very good return flow because I'm only expecting to be in the ~250rwkW range, and will live with whatever outcome I get.
