Hey all,

Have just gone to bleed the clutch (slave+master) on my GTS after a RB25DE(+T) conversion, note the car was sitting for 2 1/2 years.

However after bleeding both the slave and master I cannot get any pressure into the pedal.

Car was sitting for 2 1/2 years..

Any ideas? would the piston seal be gone on my master? or should I continue to bleed it through?

Any help appreciated,

Cheers again

Did you bleed the master first then the slave? kept fluid up to it while you were doing it? done it for a while to get all the air out?

I think you can tell if its the master or the slave by looking for leaks around them while its pressed in. Or the master may have stuffed seals if you watch the fluid level while pushing the clutch in, You should see it drop a bit

Take the line out of the master and see if you can pump fluid direct out of the port. If you can, then at least bits are moving back and forth inside the master. Then put the line back on and don't do the tube nut all the way up. Leave it quite loose. If you can still get fluid to come out then good. Tighten it up in stages and keep trying. If at some point it stops leaking out the port but you could still do the nut up a lot, then the master is probably bypassing internally.

You could also have a look at the hole in the firewall where the clutch pushrod goes through (from the footwell side) to see if there is any fluid leaking down the firewall. If they're really badly stuffed it will bypass inside the MC and also leak out the back.

If you can get the pedal to keep pumping fluid out through the MC outlet port even with the nut nearly done up, then the MC sounds like it's able to at least make some pressure. At that point you need to bleed the other end. Perhaps start that by cracking the tube nut on the slave and try to bleed the line first. Same principle as above. If you still have the dampener device and pipe loop in the clutch line, start at the highest accessible opening on that (tube nut or bleed port) and work your way down.

Yeah Im 99 percent sure the masters gone, after bleeding it and the slave alternately today for nearly half an hour, still nothing. Im sure the seals have gone, will remove tomorrow and inspect,

Cheers again for your help GTSBoy have been a huge help with finalizing this +T setup!

    • Personal experience. Those f**kers burn. And are actually a PITA to put out. Next time I walk down the back, I'll snap a photo of what the inside of the bonnet looks like when that thing ignites. PS, powder fire extinguishers are useless on that stuff too as it's fibrous and when it ignites, it starts to pull apart. And you end up just blowing powder through a sieve effectively.   Like the big thing is, if it's fire resistant, it's job is to stop what burning? The METAL above it? It's just to try keep heat off the bonnet paint work.
    • Oh man, sorry, $60.00000000... 😛
    • That's more or less what he meant. What it really means is that you do not have to go full crazy on the build. Don't need the best oil pump, expensive rods & pistons, big cams, etc. You can upgrade whatever you want instead of using stock level items, but you don't have to. Having said that - any time an RB is opened up, if anything is getting replaced, I think the opportunity should be taken to do all the sensible upgrades. Pistons, rods, pump, etc.
    • February update 🙂 We managed to get the very last 1/18th "Extra Scale" cars stock available from bookstores in Kyoto. These are actually the last ones and will not be restocked again! Hachette Collections Japan have not decided on a release date for these or other models in the series, so for the time being these are all there are available new.  These are showing up on Yahoo auctions at inflated prices already (especially the Celica and NSX) so get yours now at a very reasonable price before they disappear!
