Okay, so this probably isn't everyone's cup of tea, but it is interesting nonetheless.

What the thing does is mirror the screen of your smartphone wirelessly onto a screen into your car. It is powered by USB and connects with AV cables or HDMI (your choice).
So I'm not condoning using your phone while driving, but seriously, if you had one of these it could be quite convenient, especially with our screens. You could set up your GPS maps, have your music playing or streaming, or play or stream video (to the back seats, of course) all from your phone, connecting as soon as you get in your car.

Thoughts? Obviously some drawbacks, but its look easy to set up and opens up a couple of things without major hacking or installations.

Thats cool, but some in-car dvd screens already have that mirror software built in to it (but only for android, far as I've seen) Most smart phones have a cable that goes form phone > hdmi, then you can buy a hdmi > av for your car anyway.

Either way still seems cool, but yeah a lot like apple TV.....

Edit - spelling

That's true. I guess this enables mirroring of both android AND apple, without the need for a new headunit/dvd screen, utilising stock ones. Plus it seems easy to install.
But it does have its drawbacks. You still have to use your phone rather than the screen. But with further reading, it appears they're developing new models to utilise stock touchscreens? Not sure.

Cool little unit though, in my opinion, and if you want to use GPS, music and video, for cars like ours (M35 and V35) it could be cheaper to use a unit like this than to buy a headunit and new stereo surround, depending on your uses.

I've got a pioneer x2650bt, you can buy a separate box that will mirror the screen onto the head unit and you can control the phone from the head units touch screen.

Works perfect, I mainly use it for google maps.

Also there will be cheaper options on aliexpress, just type in miracast or something.

I have a sony bt701, it allows mirroring of phones with mirrorlink/mirrorcast and gives you full control of it via touch screen. Won't work with iPhone though, but as I dont use out dated over priced crap that isn't an issue for me haha

hey guys

Anyone buying one don't forget that our v35/v36 are ntsc video format compatible and if this device allows switching between pal/ntsc it would be perfect. I have already tried a few other similar products before but the ntsc part spoiled it for me. With this particular part i have been trying to search regarding video output but couldn't find a good answer yet :/ if anyone knows please post here so i will buy one and try it out :)

    • is it common on RB25det motors that the exhaust manifold nuts become loose overtime? I was inspecting some stuff and noticed that a couple of nuts were so loose that I could literally turn it by hand. Everything is stock on exhaust side unless when they installed the dump pipe they had to remove the manifold for whatever reason. I'm surprised the boost leak didn't show up on the test lol.
    • Haha watch Alex's eye twitch when you mention Nistune to him in person lol. He's not a fan, then again it's quite a niche product. I personally don't mind them, but most usually steer clear from it. Word of advice, do not ground the AFM to the chassis, there are heaps of incorrect guides on the interwebs. Send both GND on the AFM back to Sensor GND on the harness.
    • Note I edited my post, so Sleeper's quote is not the same as what I meant any more.
    • That's a whole 'nother issue. Nissan ones get dirty and sticky. The coolant heats the wax pellet thingo to close the valve, so it is open when it is cold. And so if there is no coolant it just takes longer to close, because the heat has to soak all the through the inlet manifold.
    • I feel like this is crazy pills though. Isn't it locked up all the time anyway? It shouldn't flare anywhere if it only unlocks momentarily while it shifts gears. And if it flares like that when shifting gears, then the 8HP with a 5500 stall is not driving as well when on the road and/or track use..
