Nothing but a story of neglect. Have been chasing a misfire issue ever since we first upped the boost. Turns out it was an issue with the adaptronic software. I have QR drift matsuri in October so will go back to the tuner before then and up the boost and FINALLY play with the cam gears haha. Will post results in here for everyone.

Well if bet my left nut it's not electrical. Did absolutely everything myself and tuner could think of but still no avail. Thinking it could be a leaky injector seal or something similar. Out of rego

Getting some D585's and a 5 port boost solenoid and going back for retune so hopefully should have some results soonish with a bit of luck.

The block is however Nissan made it back in 1988 haha. Just a wrecker RB30 bottom end with 1.2mm restrictor. Neo head, standard cams, 6 boost exhaust mani, Greddy ffp, turbosmart 45mm hypergate, Hyp

I will have mine together in the next few weeks and then back in the car hopefully by the end of the month.  Then it will be off to John from Next up performance for run in and tune. 

We will probably dial in the cams as close as possible without adjustable cam gears.  Not a fan of them even tho lots of people use them I won't be as I'm more a set and forget person.

No worries man, let us know what you end up setting them at. Ben C34 did some investigating ages ago and found that if you align them to the TDC marks on the rear timing cover they are 8deg out (I think 8deg retarded)

I am still running standard Neo baby cams by the way.

So I had an almost identical misfire issue...

 

Turned out to be the cam timing being out. Found that even setting it to the marks it would be out a bit. Set it, turn it over 1 full turn, check again. Etc etc

 

I luckily have access to a friends dyno to play with this stuff with him, so we were able to see some real documented results. Could to 282kw by 4800rpm but would misfire like hell above that. Now the same boost comes on later and goes hard to limiter. Next is a retune for 20psi and to dial in the cams and EBC (Y)

      Went looking at mine, reading off the tyre, presumably these are 1st week of 2003. Still hold air (I haven't had to pump them up in over 12 months!)     I couldn't quickly find the date on the front tyres, they were fitted around 2008 to the rims, so probably not quite as old, but they have a lot more dry rot cracks in them. Still hold air.

      I am now intrigued to go check the dates on the tyres on my Skyline... We need a game of who has the oldest tyre still holding a car up, and successfully holding air (for longer than a 2 weeks I feel is successful air holding).   I feel your tyres may be beating mine

      Ok, still waiting for a date to get the cams installed on the MX5, why so long, because MX5 Mania has received a few new sets of different cams with different specs for the MZR and are currently trialling them, and working out what is best for 2.5 "powers" with stock internals, in the end if I go bigger than the Kelford stage 1 cams I'll need to look at the valve springs  Hopefully I'll get the news on them next week As for the boot of the car getting fixed, I hopefully pick it up early next week, I was sweating on picking it up yesterday but, meh, it was not to be, so ne weekend cruising for me

      Ok got some old tyres for you guys...my car has been sitting around un-driven for about 6 years now. I had it on the original rims with the shitty compliance tyres it got it with back in 2006, which were manufactured in 2004... Sidewalls eventually rotted and split open, obviously no air in them and the rims were holding the car up. Just swapped them with some 17" Work rims and tyres which are probably 10+ years old too but at least holding air
