Hello All,

I'm relatively new here but I've been looking around and can't find an answer to my question.
I have a 1996 Series 2 R33 GTS25T i got a KKR 480 turbo from a buddy for less than $180 brand new;
(He totaled his car needed money to get a new one, that's the reason for being cheap) anyways; I'm curious if when
i do swap the turbos will i need to do anything as far as injectors go? I'm putting in new spark plugs this weekend.

I have all the supporting turbo mods
~3" catback exhaust
~Blitz FMIC
~HKS cold air intake
~Greddy BOV

Right now i'm running stock RB25 injectors and coilpacks.
I plan on upgrading these but at the moment i'm saving my money for a proper Garrett or Turbonetics turbo.
I'm also aware that i should upgrade these before i purchase the new big turbo but i'm just wondering if
i can run this small KKR480 off the stock injection and ignition system.

Any help is appreciated.
Cheers!

Okay,

I figured i'd need one of those with a larger turbo;
Yes i'm aware they aren't very reputable or well liked but it's larger than the standard
and i couldnt pass up the deal for how cheap it was brand spanking new.

But the injectors should be okay then?

Thanks for the help Zebra!
Much appreciated man

You're best of leaving it alone to be honest. I know it's not what you wanted to hear but you're going to ruin the car that way. Sell the 480 on eBay or something and use that money to buy a nistune or Powerfc Ecu and go from there.

Also ditch the atmo blow off valve for a standard one because the stock Ecu uses the airflow meter

he doesn't need to ditch the BOV for a standard one...unless he lives in certain ozzy states? it just runs richer for that split second you are changing gears with a atmo BOV.

And potentially like crap at idle as air is drawn in through the bov.

It's great that you're atmo bob works for you, but along with being a cop magnet in Australia, they cause heaps of headaches for guys, and for what gain?

I would rather keep the stock turbo, that KKR 480 dim sim special turbo would lunch itself before the stock one would..

If you're on a budget, save your dollars for a Hypergear High Flowed unit... it will save you from heartache.

BOVs are gay...

just use the stock one, or no BOV :)

lol yep totally gay...so many people hate them....well Australians seem to....the rest of the world doesn't have a problem.

and no bov just means the air gets measured twice, once on the way in and once on the way out by the AFM.

bov don't leak at idle...and if they do they are either rooted of spring pressure is too slack.

Guys, i live in Japan where it's considered gay if you're not running a BOV lol but i appreciate the help and the OEM turbo is dead. I bought that KKR knowing it was shit but it was also dirt cheap and will do the job until i can buy a proper one.

Anyone happen to know how long of lines i need? I wanto to switch to braided lines now while im in there but not sure what lengths i need.

Again, all the help (and criticism) is appreciated.

Thanks guys!

just buy the Kando kits on eBay, they fit great + super cheap!

Orido's RIDOX Supra doesn't have a BOV and it sounds tits!

Umm, sorry to rain on your parade but many OEM BOV's are designed to leak at idle. Check out the little hole in the GTS-t BOV next time you see one.
